I may be running the risk of getting myself into trouble here, but I'd still like to see some apologies here by members that acted like jack-wagons in ZK's for sale thread.

For the complete LIFE of me I don't get how some of you, ESPECIALLY long-time members, don't get why he blocked out the info on the originals picture. I feel silly for having to post it, but shockingly it seems like it's worth it for me to do so...

It doesn't MATTER if most can't afford it. If he posts the part info (and let's say the part was $3000.00) and the seller gets completely FLOODED with calls and emails....well, he may figure he's REALLY got something here! Now the part is $8000.00 and your $100.00 casting of the part is now $300.00 because the seller jacked the price up due to "demand".

I'll say it again, I think some apologies to ZK are still in order here.

But the good thing I see coming out of this is that anybody who is interested now has to contact Glen directly to get the contact details Unless he decides to post the details here in the main forum, but then I can see a debacle heading the collector community´s way, just like in (my fave) the case of the Eumig

What if someone else had the information and wanted to share it? It's not like you can stop them. Last I heard, the basic spirit of the RPF was the free flow of information so as to help all in the prop community.

That's one of the most basic principles of economics though. Or are you advocating protectionist policies?

The only thing not being shared anymore is the specific person he got them from, and I don't think there's ever been any requirement anywhere that a person gives up their source. The part numbers and model name and all that has been provided. It's up to you to then do the footwork to find a dealer.

Well, MFN has said he feels that people should have to go through Glen to get the info. What if somebody else had the same information and posted it for general consumption? I'm not saying that ZK should have to do so, but what if someone else wanted to do so?

I am all for free flow of information, but I hate entitlement mentality. I can´t remember who made the comment, but I remember a very disrespectful post about how ZK´s "legwork" did not count or something like that. Wow, just wow. And to think that his "legwork" led to a sign up list at the vendor. I am sure he is not a member of the RPF. But in this case I wish he was and would have read some of the comments in that thread and place a print out of that thread next to the list of parts ...

Ah, but then again I don´t really get what the fuss was all about anyway. Although I´ve seen Firefly, this is not a prop that really stuck with me :facepalm :lol
