RPFers going to DragonCon, shout out!

I'm going down with a group from The Hunter's Lair. I'm planning to do Saturday's parade in my Predator suit, as well as a photo hunt on Saturday afternoon and hopefully one on Sunday evening.

Here's my Predator suit:

My other costume is an armored black leather dragon outfit:

Also, I'm doing two panels on Sunday's costuming track: one on electronics and animation on Sunday at 1 PM, and one called "Arm Yourself" at 4 PM. I'll be showing off my Arduino projects at the electronics panel, and doing some armor casting at the "Arm Yourself" panel.

Got my ID done. Printed and laminated. Gonna have it hanging from my backpack (but I've considered on having it hanging from a yanyard, but I'm happy with this. Besides, I think the convention uses lanyards for guests. Can't be sure, but either way, I'm still happy with it).

New update: I found my Death Shroom T-Shirt, so I may be wearing it On Friday, I normally would be wearing my tie-dyed T-shirt (because every Friday is Tie-dyed day, a tradition I started back in high school), but I may end up wearing it (or I just may stick with one of my Tie-dyed T-shirts), my Midnight Riders T-shirt (like this one) on Saturday and my Flynn's Arcade T-shirt on Sunday. But, either way, I'll still have my RPF ID hanging from my lanyard.

Unfortunately no, that was the resolution of the site logo so that's the best I could do. I think if it's done about the size of the DC badge it should look fine at that resolution.

One is talking about DragonCon in general. The other is asking who of the RPF is going to be there. But if the Mods feel like this thread is repetitive, then ManfromNaboo or another one of the mods would reply, letting us know about it before locking it.

If anyone isn't aware, there's a DragonCon iPhone/Android app that has a scheduling assistant and listing of the panels etc It's pretty cool!

Wife and I have a room in the Hyatt (International Tower) with a friend...the 4th dropped out so we have space for the whole weekend if anyone is interested.

I didn't realize you had to pre-register for the parade, so it looks like we'll just be watching. Is there a best day to dress up? We'll be arriving Thursday night and leaving Monday. I'm bringing two costumes, Pearl Forrester and Red Tornado. I plan on wearing RT to the DC photo shoot on Saturday, but the rest I'm not sure of.

Every day is a good day to costume. I don't really bring Muggle clothing with me except for arriving and departing.

Just show up with your group. I've never been turned away for not registering.

My dad has printed out the "pocket guide" (honestly, not really a pocket guide since the thing is 125+ pages big) and, it appears that for our first day (Friday), we're primarily going to be in the hotel that has a lot of the "Star Trek" panels. I don't know if I ever mentioned this, but my dad is a fan of the TOS Star Trek, and I was raised on TNG and Voyager, as well as the movies (my dad has gotten me to watch quite a few of the TOS episodes).

But, I'm still planning on wearing my Death Shroom shirt on Friday (as I've mentioned previously), my Midnight Riders on Saturday and my Flynn's Arcade T-shirt on Sunday. And I will have my RPF badge hanging from my lanyard. I hope you guys will be too, as I find it hard to know who is RPF and who is not, as well as which users they are.

Just to help ID each other it might be a good idea to use some of the RPF badge space for a user avatar pic. I know I'd recognize folks faster by seeing a familiar user pic, than even reading their name.
