RPFers going to DragonCon, shout out!

Can't wait to see you guys there!

Does anyone know how much some of the celebrities are going to charge for their autographs/pics?

Hard to really say. Unlike MegaCon, the website don't include their prices. However, if you booked through Froggy pictures (I think the name is), the price could be anywhere between $40 and $100 (depending on who it is and how many of the celebrities are in the shot).

You all have fun!! Maybe one of these years I will make the trip! Heard you pretty much have to get your Hotel a Year in Advance! any recommendations as to where to stay and decent hotel prices?

Okay, I logged on today to print a badge, when I encountered some problems with pixelation...so I made a version my self that basically is a mix of the two already on this thread if anyone is interested..

Hey folks, unlike last year and all the years previous, you will have to have a pass to be on any Convention related properties. This will be after 7pm some places, at all times (The Hyatt).

This will keep a bunch of us locals at the house. Have a good time in Atlanta.

Nothing personal, but ABOUT ****ING TIME. Too many damn lookieloos who decide they won't pay for anything but take up space when people are trying to display their costume, move around or take pictures. Damn frat boys drunk off their asses and wasting time, all kinds of problems.

This was just for everyone's knowledge. The "frat boys" will still be there, they have room keys. They are called Football Fans. The Locals coming for a couple of hours won't. I've talked to 25 that are staying away.
As always you made your important opinion on something you know little about abundantly clear.

I know plenty, been going the last 8 years or so, and it's TOO DAMN CROWDED. So the fewer there who don't need to be there, the better. Love you too! :D

leaving in 24hrs! if anyone sees a drunk with a mohawk offering people rootbeer and everclear out of a camelpack, thats me

Dude you don't live here, going to 8 DragonCons is nothing, one of the problems is overselling the Hotels, the Hyatt especially, having the host hotel with the smallest lobby in the City has always been an issue, having increasing sports fan attendance is starting to create friction and Con attendance has grown but the facilities have not.
It must be tough to be an expert on everything.
I honestly don't know how I get through the day not getting set straight by you.
Should you folks need any info on Atlanta while here make sure to ask Kerr Avon. He knows plenty, he's been coming here 8 years for 3 days at a time.

Well, the new Check-In is rocky

Take it easy.

Just signed up to help take photos on Sat and Sun for the RPF Facebook page.

Since I had already painted a couple t-shirts (just to help folks track me down at the con), I figure now it might also help anyone in costume get their convention costume pictures up on the RPF Facebook page!

So, if you're in costume and want to share a pic with all your RPF friends, just pull me aside!

Have a safe and fun con! :):thumbsup

Hopefully. Reports were the system was down - but I believe it's back up. The real trouble is gonna be outside the lobbies with folks without passes trying to mingle. The word just got out yesterday so that could be nuts.
At least it won't be 100.

From what we heard, the new barcode system for pre-registration caused the system crash. It was about 45 min before they could get it back up and running. And apparently its still faster to do on site registration than pre-reg. That line looked like it would never end...

As for cutting down on the non-badge holding (no room key holding) spectators, that can only help the con. If last year was any indication of Costumers and Football fans not mingling well, the hotels should have taken their cue from all of the complaints from last year. We`ll see if the new system does any good.

One can only hope.
