Robocop: The Original for Pepakura **8/29 1st post update, foam glove**

Any time I try to scale the files then save and print them in Pepkura Designer it asks me for a key. What am I doing wrong here?

There should not be any issue with a key, and the main suit files are not password protected. The only thing i can think of is if you are using an older version of Pepakura 3, or Pepakura 2 that hasn't been updated through the Tamasoft site. Or you're using a pirated copy, in which case you can buy a key for $38.

Great work ! Personally i'm not a fan of the new design of Robocop, I prefer the former so that one. ^^

Thanks! I've been trying to get the new suit to grow on me, but with no success. It just looks (to me) too much like a dozen other similar designs I've seen recently. Guess i'll just wait for Robocop two..... Part two.... :lol

You're killing me.... Between seeing suits like this and following JFCustom's work on BlackKaos' awesome model, makes me want to get back into Robocop building.... Nice work! :thumbsup

The reason I move like that its due to the shoes, I add it like 6 inches to it so I look higher, can't walk the normal with 6" of flat foam under your feet lol

Hi, I'm having trouble opening the foam files. What program do I need to use please? (new to this)..
Also, what mm thickness of foam would you recommend to use? Thanks! :)

Downloaded with success! :)

What would be the best way of scaling the parts to fit me? (5ft 2) I was thinking of building the whole thing from cardboard as is to get an idea of how big each part is compared to me then scaling down and remaking in foam as appropriate.

Your hard work in doing all the modeling and attention to detail is amazing. I'm currently a couple weeks into my build due to having to work through a few helmet scales. But after finding the right scale I've started the rest of the suit.

I have a 22 inch diameter head and found that a scale of 10.5 worked really well with it. Being that I'm 6'2", I hope that might help with some references for any planning to build this in the future for someone of similar size to me.

I also just skipped the whole back of the helmet assembly all together and put a flat piece of paper across the back and will do final details when I get to the bondo stage and etch in the fine lines then.

If I may, perhaps you might want to factor in some braces for your pieces. I've noticed some definite pull on the helmet to the inside so I'll just do what I was planning and just craft some on the go.

But the files are great and I'll do my best to post updates on my build if you want.

Cyberdragon....

Use your point to point distance feature in designer to check for your sizing. As he was saying on his first page of posts, if you open the chest file in designer, then go to (file) select (import file) and bring in the torso, cod, and shoulder pads doing that you can get your height and scale according to your size. All those files are set so when you import then they all fit together nicely with each other.

Definitely keep me posted! 10 1/2 was the scale I believe I went with as well; I found it was a lot harder to scale this properly than an IM helmet, that jaw can get squirrely pretty easily.

And you're completely right about bracing;:facepalm This was the first 3d model I think I'd ever designed specifically for Pepakura, yet I didn't even think to add pep reinforcements.... I'll see what I can do.

No worries. If it makes you feel any better, this is only the second pep I've ever done. The first was...:facepalm...an Iron Man Mk3 suit. (Not like it hasn't been done before) I made it for my daughter and I've only done the paper stage so far, haven't even hardened it yet due to budget restrictions. So in the meantime I thought I'd do something for myself. And Robocop was in my generation and your files are excellent and very detailed. And like I said before, it was SO detailed I had to skip all the small paper details from the back of the helmet and just put a solid piece of paper to bridge that gap.
