Robocop: The Original for Pepakura **8/29 1st post update, foam glove**

Sorry that some of these are slightly out of focus, didn't realize it until after I uploaded them.

Ok so I'm just about finished with the chest piece now. Only some of the minor details left. I need to connect the piece at the front. (I left it open down the mid chest seam in order to put it on for now for sizing. I just hope my super extra large (read fat ass) frame will fit with the torso and all. I took it up to 495 and I fear that any higher then it will be too big for me. Right now you can see it goes from my outer shoulder to outer shoulder which is what I was trying for.

On the third to last pic, on the pectoral piece, you can see there is an open spot right above the far left spike. There were no tabs on the pep file for these areas, (They ARE highlighted as a red line on the pep file itself). There is also something similar on the bigger shoulder blocks that are right in between the shoulder rings. But it's still no worry, I just cut some scrap pieces and just did a quick fold and glued it. I also had to cut the arm holes a bit bigger, and I also took a pic of the back of the helmet and you can see how I just bypassed all the small details for now. The grid/vent work on the pec piece is another area I'm going to have to touch up in the bondo stage. The pieces were pretty small so I had to do the best I could in putting it together. In the pep file it has it slightly raised from the chest, but in the following pic it shows it it more flush with the rest of the chest.

The neck wrap works great when scaled with the chest piece and connects just fine. I can't wait to harden it all so it all fits together. I'll probably make a small lip on the chest neckline for the neck wrap to rest on and keep in place by magnets.

But please, don't take any offense to any criticism. I still LOVE all the files and appreciate the hard work it took to complete them. I'm just trying to point out any slow downs or areas I found troubling or drew more attention than another area.

Nice work on the pep files and a big thank you!

Philthy Stache I had the same problem when doing my helmet. It took me 3 try's and the final was around the 10.5 as well. Your chest piece is coming along nicely, one thing I have noticed with a lot of other builds is the chest is always to small. But you have it looking just about right. The shoulder to shoulder is the same look as I am going for, this is the same look as the suit in the movie. I am 6' 4" and quite large in the upper frame so I am crossing my fingers I have got the sizing right for mine which I will be starting to build this weekend. I have done the first part of my helmet and please feel free to view the video blog I have made
The helmet has a few changes to be made such as the circles around the ears and the back plate needs bracing to bring it in a bit. These will all be in the 2nd stage video blog which will cover the finishing. I will be doing a video blog for each stage of the suit so subscribe to my channel if you would like to keep up to date with it. Once I have built more of the suit I will start my own thread to explain what I have done in more detail.
Long live 1987 Robocop and all you awesome suits!

Oh one other thing does anybody have any good leads on purchasing the gloves?

I used gauntlet-style butyl gloves. The only thing that sucks is they don't breathe AT ALL.

Check what I did to my Robo- I call it now ROBOCLUB - still having issues with the battery to power it my battery is not lasting enough, any tips will be appreciated

View attachment 352017 dc 12v 4500 mah battery
Someone told me it should last me more than 2 hours but it just lasting like 15 minutes

Yeah, the price is great on those, but they don't put out the juice they claim, and the charging time works out to something like 24 hours. :( At least that one will put out 12v when fully charged, the other one out there that's listed at 12v and I think 3800 mAh is crap, I broke it open and it only had 3 3.7v lithiums putting out 11.1 volts. Worse than that, the mAh output was only like 60% of what they were advertising.

Anyways, the 4500 mAh is what I used on the Igor camera system, and it was good for I think 8 hours, but that larger pack still puts out a lot less power than advertised (My system was drawing under 400 mA/H). I also had to have the power switch in the on position when charging, otherwise it only powers the LED on the box but isn't actually charging at all. For $25 or so, they're a good deal, but you're probably going to have to spend twice as much or more to get the actual power they're advertising. Either that, or make your own battery pack, but that can get expensive too.

Can you show me what I can use, a link or something where I can buy what I need

I need it for night clubs contracts so I need to lit those babys at least an hour or more to be on a safe side

This is a good outline:

Another option is to buy battery cases from a place like Radio Shack, and then buying separate LiIon batteries to put in it.

An easier option would probably be to just but a better-quality Li-Ion pack. If you look at the one you've got, the case is practically identical to the two sizes I had and most of the cheaper ones listed online. I'm pretty sure they're all manufactured by the same company in China (at least the cases are), so you can guess that if it comes in the cheap case it's going to be underpowered and crap. I would spend the extra money and go with something like this:

http://smile.amazon.com/XTPower-10000mAh-Recorders-Sensation-Connectors/dp/B00935L44E/ref=pd_cp_ba_2

It's better made, and also has multiple power options and charge indicators.

Nice I like that xtpower pack, Im buying it right now hopefully I get it before Saturday, do you have that one?

Nope, a friend has got the 16000mAh and loves it (namely for the USB charge ports). Then again, she only uses it for cell phone charging (and her laptop occasionally I think). I was told they are well made though. And honestly, after sending back a couple of those Chinese packs, I'll end up buying one of those next.
