Robocop: The Original for Pepakura **8/29 1st post update, foam glove**

Re: Robocop: The Original for Pepakura **UPDATE-> HELMET FOAM TEMPLATES POSTED**

its about 14 inches! Well, after i sanded the dome and mod podged and primered, i realized you were completely right on it getting coneheaded. So I cut of his dome! lol! scaryyyy! I tried to make the one with the 2 baseball hats but it was too small to cover the area. So instead i used the "cone head dome" cut off about an inch and a quarter from the bottom, used the oven to heat form a couple of thinner pieces of foam to make it a little thicker and put it back together. Doesn't look as coney anymore. Have you made the paper one? I see you are about to release arm files? Exciting!

NICE ONE ON THE HELMET BRO!! :love

Nice work so far! I printed my own paper pep helmet last night (scale 11.5) and will start it this evening.
The biceps are posted in paper, and the left bicep is up in foam. I decided to also post the lower half of the elbow hinges to aid in building, they should be up later today.

Big shout out to Gaiatron for his unfolding! (y)thumbsup:thumbsup

Re: Robocop: The Original for Pepakura **UPDATE-> UPPER FOREARM POSTED**

I decided to separate the upper forearm section so that both sides of the elbow hinge can be built now. No lower forearm yet, because I honestly don't like how it looks right now. I also thought about building slip-on gauntlets with gloves attached that will plug right into the upper forearm like the original. No matter how I finish mine, I'll release a pep forearm on here so people can decide for themselves.

The bicep and upper forearm should be scaled the same for the joints to line up. Don't remember if I mentioned this before, I also configured the peps so that they can be assembled manually in Pepakura. Hopefully makes scaling easier:

Thanks for looking!

Nice! I'm interested to see how it turns out on paper. I'm still not used to working with foam, but trial and error goes a long way, lol. Well, I more or less finished the helmet, I only primed the top but kinda seems like the right color! lol! Crappy lighting but here's a couple pics. Again, a big thanks to you and Gaiatron for the hard work! I think I'll start on the left arm tomorrow in foam and see how that goes.

Re: Robocop: The Original for Pepakura **UPDATE-> HELMET FOAM TEMPLATES POSTED**

Thanks! It's your file!:thumbsup

nope bro, that's laellee's work. give the credit to him hehehe oh btw, did you use the default scale or did you resize it?

Re: Robocop: The Original for Pepakura **UPDATE-> THIGHS POSTED**

Left and right thighs for the V1 have been added.

I am splitting time between projects right now, but I'll try to get as many of the proto files up as possible quickly. Gaiatron is working hard to get these files unfolded in foam, I will add them to the first post when they are completed.
I started on my helmet pep, but I haven't finished enough to check the sizing. I am still thinking that my 11.5 scale guesstimate is close, but I gotta build more to be sure. I will update the helmet paper pep download when I reset the default size. I would not want to build this in paper pep unless I was REALLY patient. :wacko

Re: Robocop: The Original for Pepakura **UPDATE-> THIGHS POSTED**

and here is the left thigh:

still working on the right bicep and thigh.

Thanks Gaiatron (y)thumbsup:thumbsup

The paper pep for the left shin has been posted. I have left the main calf in one piece; I want to build this and check the fit, it's gotta be sectioned to wear. A lower rear calf clam shell would be great, but I'm open to suggestions at this point.

Re: Robocop: The Original for Pepakura **UPDATE->SHIN POSTED**

what the?! its here already? will finish the pending parts today!!

Take a break, man! :lol You've been unfolding fast as heck already. You also have to remember, I don't sleep :facepalm

On that note, I'll be posting the shoe peps tonight. The two detail tubes on the inner sides of each shoe were left unattached (still included in pep). They'd be a lot easier to make freehand.

I'm waiting to get a helmet pepped out and sized properly before I finish the neck cowl. The pistons are essentially done if someone wants a pep for them. I am still negotiating with myself over the glove pep.

Re: Robocop: The Original for Pepakura **UPDATE->SHIN POSTED**

Is this a record for the fastest pep files ever ?????

Thankyou for sharing them amazing work

just a thought with the glove pep have you ever used plast dip they have a flexable gloss to go over the rubber as well i am thinking could it be used on this project in any way ?

Re: Robocop: The Original for Pepakura **UPDATE->Shoes added**

This would have come in handy when I was trying to freehand my halloween costume last year :)

Another option for the helmet: when I did mine i used a plastic costume biker helmet like this one: http://www.spirithalloween.com/imag...tivezoom/processed/01146620.interactive.a.jpg and cut off the bottom edge, then hot glued the foam to it. Gives you a perfect dome, and once it's painted up you can't tell the difference from the foam. The helmet cuts easily with a dremel and a cutting disc.

Thank you guys for all the effort!!

Thank you! There is a lot of improvement that can be done to the model and peps, but it's a good starting point.
About the gloves, that was one of the first thoughts I had. I thought that if I get my initial glove model to fit, dipping would give it a good flexible finish like these:

I like that idea a lot! The dome has a huge impact on how the finished helmet will look, and I'm not a huge fan of freehanding them unless I have to. I'm building mine right now, and I could have saved a couple o hours with one of those :behave

Here's how mine ended up...just the cut helmet and 3 pieces of foam:
