Are you still working with 1/2" foam? I'm looking at some neoprene-like stuff for my neck piece. It's thin, strong and flexible, but doesn't breathe AT ALL. :cry

I am still working with half inch foam except for certain pieces like the neck which is an eight of an inch. I would love to find some stuff that is a quarter inch thick but haven't had any luck... :angry

Have you tried a craft store like Michaels or A.C. Moore? Also try eBay; there was someone selling foam sheets in all thicknesses. They are smaller sheets (12" x 18", IIRC), but for making the neck seal that may work.

It would cost a little more, maybe, but you could hot-glue a couple of 1/8 in. pieces together. I have heard some other really talented builders mention doing just that.

I have tried michaels, and johans but they either only sell the 2mm foam or its already cut out to shapes like stars. Ive also looked online, but honestly the price for each 9"x11" is just not worth it. I would love to know where people buy rolls of it. I got lucky with the 1/4 inch bit I have randomly at a scrap store but they didn't know where it came from and haven't gotten anymore! lol! I have some yoga type stuff but I really don't like it. As for the gluing 2 pieces together, I don't know, hopefully it doesn't come to that...lol

I'm almost ready to make the shoes, but I am kind of dreading it! Should it be made extra long since it's going over a shoe? Any suggestions? I was thinking of making it out of thinner foam and velcroing it to a shoe...

I think that's probably your best bet. I used to try velcro, ties, etc, but now I just buy thrift store tennis shoes and permanently attach them. Otherwise I was having problems with the attachments failing/flopping/moving around too much.

You know how it goes, though..... put put put... I'm just happy that there's one build out there and he got a picture with Dredds and Halos...... That's generations of enforcement! Side note, I wanted to say Robocop was first, but Dredd was WAY BEFORE.

Don't worry mate, this is still on my "want to build" list, I just really need to try and take a break from working with foam for a while after my IP so I don't burn out lol.

has anyone done a foam edit for the feet? I'd love to get started on a build myself. scored a NECA auto 9 on Ebay, and a helmet cast as well to get me started

This is amazing work man, thanks for your time and effort. I have been putting of trying a screen accurate suit for two years now but now I have no excuse Now Im of the foam and hot glue gun shop...

Thanks, appreciate it! Although a lot of room for improvement.

As for the feet, here is a link for a foam unfold:

Hopefully that will be some help for you guys. I'd like to just remodel them for foam specifically, but I'm not sure how soon that can happen. The raised toe details would be a lot easier to add on separately, rather than how they're incorporated into the top of the foot now.

thanks so much! I'm going to get started ASAP. I scored a NECA Auto 9 and a helmet off Ebay to kickstart things. if anyone wants to know, the helmet is from Hollywoodpropmasters. I'll post pics when I get it
