Rey's Gun TFA

Us the Plexiglas stand as you point of reference on scaling it out.
The next person to go see it needs to make a note on how thick it is. (looks about 1/4")

It looks like the front plate of the chamber section is actually two separate pieces.

Also, the front of the barrel looks like a finishing washer.

Workin on one as well. Just started modeling the grips. I have a bunch of various dl-44 grips but wanted something more accurate. Need to get a better idea of the scale of the screw holes and a couple other tweaks but getting there.

so glad i found this thread. as soon as i saw that teaser I said now thats the blaster I want :) i'd love to find one as a nerf gun to play with my kids or perhaps find one that i can convert to a nerf gun. you folk modeling it have done an excellent job

a few posts back there is a link to http://www.theforceawakensblog.com/50-the-force-awakens-battle-props-in-close-up/ and there are two other blaster's on there i think are using the same base pistol frame. so the base frame might be a found piece(revolver)

edit- okay after looking at them again i can see the shape where the trigger guard meets the grip is different in these vs the rey blaster but i still think they are close enough in resemblance that they base frames must be from the same manufacturer

Doubtful it's a found part. Most likely the same 3d modeled or laser-cut frame with just the fronts changed. The triggers don't look functional either. The entire guns have the fidelity of background props.

Hi mellowmind,

Cool I have been waiting for this. Is this something that I could give to a metal machinist
and he would be able to reproduce it out of metal??

Also how accurate would this be, I would think you have produced this from pictures as a reference.

Cheers

I threw a quick coat of Alclad II onto some parts. Missing some screws and I should have trimmed a couple areas a bit more before painting but I just wanted to get a sense of how it will look when done, since I almost never get to see my own props finished these days.

Joatrash, that looks amazing. Does the Alclad have decent adhesion, or does it have a tendency to scrape?
