OKIE Iron Man MK VI (10/25 FINISHED )

Re: OKIE Iron Man MK VI (HELP w/ Hinging the arms)

ah theres no way. i wish i could there are a ton of casino's around here that do costume contests but i have alot to do and no money to make it possible. i gotta save for the helmet and hands and i gotta save for some smooth cast too :( went and applied for a welding job i used to have about 3 years ago so hopefully the consider me. right now im contemplating on bracing the peices i have now and continuing or waiting it out. leaning toward continuing but im so paranoid of the peices getting crushed somehow. i was doing a master chief suit a few years ago and it got crushed while moving :(

Thanks! Have been checking the hero tutorials often to see another video of your suit.... any chance it will be up soon?!?

dude that would mean the world to me!

I always admired people who help others out and this forum is full of them. If I can I just want to pass on what others have done...

I'm not sure what I will have left over at the moment, probably some resin if you still need it. Not sure on the smooth cast because it is awefully expensive and not sure if I have enough for my own.

Re: OKIE Iron Man MK VI (HELP w/ Hinging the arms)

i gotta say i am very greatful for the offer but i eneded up getting resin and have resined the chest and back. i put them on my thread a min ago. im ready to see an update man, the suspence is killing me!

Re: OKIE Iron Man MK VI (SURREAL HIP PODS)

Don't really have anything worthy of showing for an update, just been sanding away....

But I have had my hip pods from Surreal Studios for a lil while and I'd like to show them off!!! As I'm sure everyone knows, his build looks like it was straight from a 3D file and the evidence is pictured below :love...

Re: OKIE Iron Man MK VI (SURREAL HIP PODS)

very nice! the hip pods look awsome surreal. so far i have the front of the chest resined and the back save for where the chest and back connect. just really worried about them being uneven with each other. the whole arm has its first coat. just waiting on cash to get more brushes. im about to edit in some pics to my thread.

Re: OKIE Iron Man MK VI (SURREAL HIP PODS)

Nothing's a 100% paint ready but times ticking and isn't slowin down!
So I'll call these pieces okay for the moment and move on.

Forearms, elbow area needs some cleanin and detail but I just had to throw some primer on them to see how close they were...

Chest has been connected to the back.

Still need to add the spine to the back and not sure how to approach that yet.
I could do it all in pep but when I bend over it would stick out like a tail?? Any suggestions!?! :confused

Also I need to add the neck/back part to the top of the back. The piece is found in robo's brace file. Do you need to build the whole pep or just the small part and glue it in? Help here too please! :)

Re: OKIE Iron Man MK VI (Update 9/22)

Bump for any answers to the questions above...

Thanks the new guy!

Re: OKIE Iron Man MK VI (Update 9/22)

epoxy might work with the spine peices as for the part looking like a tail...

as you can see there is a part that matches the bottom of the back. as for the tail i would connect the cod to the back of the abs with the spine peice then when its dried split it where the two connect. thats what i plan on doing. as for the brace i would just build to where you can attatch a couple supports

THANKS! This screen shot is exactly what I'm talking about on the spine.

And your plan on the spine and neck/back piece is a great idea, and pretty much how I thought I might do it. Thanks for the help:thumbsup

Re: OKIE Iron Man MK VI (Update 9/22)

Tried working with foam today...

After about 3 hours I had a neck put together :cool
Not perfect put its not the most visible piece in the suit so I'll give it a pass:behave
