Nice job so far! Keep up the good work. The arms aren't the easiest place to start and you did well. You shouldn't have any trouble.

Re: OKIE Iron Man MK VI

Thanks for the encouragement!

Here is the other arm (LEFT) pepped with first coat of bondo

P.S. using smooth-cast 300 for hardening!

More coming soon!

need to clean out the seams and more bondoing!

Is there a better product to use for getting that smooth clean look? (like glazing puty)
Any help is appreciated! THANKS

Re: OKIE Iron Man MK VI

Your going to have to get it as smooth as you can first by adding and sanding the bondo until you cant get it any smoother, then prime it and fill the small holes, scratches, dints with the glazzing putty.. its a long process thats what I learned anyway and as someone said on here sanding is the devil ha keep at it :)

Re: OKIE Iron Man MK VI

Sanding is the easy part the peping is what is the killer.;)
Make it easy on yourself and buy some automotive grade filler and not "Bondo" brand filler. It will be cheaper and far easier to sand and work with, less pinholes as well.
Oh and nice "Finhead" helmet you got there, Kev does a great job of casting those up. ;)

First post is now fixed! LOL

Thank you so much for the work you put into your helmet.
However, I would also like to fill you in on how upset I am over the product:angry........... IT SO PERFECT that it would be impossible to get the rest of the armor to match! :cry

Hopefully the automotive grade filler makes my life easier! THANKS:thumbsup

Re: OKIE Iron Man MK VI

A lil update.....

Shoulder (pepped, hardened, and couple coats of bondo)
Still need to purchase automotive grade filler but will probably use the rest of my bondo first!

Re: OKIE Iron Man MK VI

Looks good. The progress is great. I'll have to try the filler vs the Bondo also. Are you fiberglassing it also? What are you using to harden it?

For hardening I'm using smoothcast 300 (plastic), fun and messy stuff!

Also, I tried a new filler today..... definitely not going back to the Bondo brand!
Using a brand called "micro-lite, light weight body filler" from NAPA!:thumbsup

Here's a test fit, any comments or critiques are welcome.
