I as well. ...dragging my gf and her son along this time. She might hate it..... or might sleep through it..... or might like it. Women are unpredictable. I dated a girl who slept through Kill Bill. ....TWICE.

One thing I know for sure is that her 13 year old son will LOVE it. It will be his first rated R movie. All things being equal, he sees and hears worse on XBox360 .

I saw it for a second time with a coworker yesterday and he loved it. I caught alot more this time around too, like the first time I didn't realize that LF snuck around and started the smoking so he could steal everyone else's stuff- I wasn't following what was happening there. Then again, I had my Predator mask on and we were about 4 rows from the screen.

well i went to see it again last night, and to be honest i think i enjoyed it even more second time round. after watching it the 1st time my only problem was nolands part in the movie, but having watched it again, i've changed my mind, it made sense. i'm basically just chuffed to bits that there's now 3 awesome predator movies for me to enjoy, hopefully there'll be even more in the future!
if i was going to have something negative to say, it would be: i wish the classic predator had atleast taken one of the other predators out! just one!!!!!
however that said, great movie!!!!

Right, finally got to see it today and have just got in so its fresh in my mind. Mixed feelings but overall i enjoyed it, i gave it 7/10 in the poll.

First, A few good things that stood out for me.

Good cast overall, characters were believable and some of them you even cared about. Good start to the film, straight into the action which isn't always a great thing but worked well here. Danny's death seen, where he was sat in the middle of the field, i enjoyed this scene more than any other i think, great interaction between the characters and genuinely creepy moment when you heard the help me cry after Isabelle had put him out of his misery, i liked that part alot infact. Speaking of Isabelle, i think Alice Braga did a fine job and added a little viewing pleasure onscreen ofcourse :D Adrian Brody who was many peoples main concern it seemed obviously worked hard for the role, he looked very believable as the character he was playing, if he didnt underact it just a little with that husky tone all the way through the film. The P1 looked great onscreen and was great to see him again, even tighed up he looked powerfull and menacing! .... And finally Mr Black, he was actually pretty damned awsome looking onscreen and fortunately he had his bio on for most of the film. I liked the spinning shoulder cannons also, even though they seemed to have the same targeting system as wolfie

A few niggles and things i would like to have seen done differently.

CGI... arrrrrgh it can be our friend but there's a fine line. Im very glad RR stuck with suits for the preds, the day they go CGI is the day the franchise dies but there was still too much in this film for my liking generally during deaths. P1 and P2 had genuinely violant deaths that made you step back and think uwff, that pred is a mean *****r! people exploding in a red CGI burst (im talking Nolan here) just doesn't have the same effect, yes its violant but it doesn't seem it somehow when its obviously fake, compare Nolans death to Mac's in the original predator, very similar but the real stage blood of Mac's was a thousand times more convincing! speaking of Noland..... i like LF but damn, what did i just see?!? nuts! and i expect to tune in and see Ray Meres pushing 400lb soon if thats what scavenging and living off of mother nature does? pffft, anyway..... Falconer.... erghh, that bio doesnt look any better on screen, infact the film benefitted in no way to him being in it imo, he had little screen time, looked rubbish and died far too easily for a "super" predator. The sword fight was a nice set up, i would like to have seen it go on longer, Hanzo was a great charactor but overall i think my expectations for this scene may have been set a little high so ultimately i was left a little dissapointed. same goes for P1 vs Mr Black, great set up and lord knows us lot have waited a fair old while to see it but it was underused imo, could have been a much longer and better scene, what was there was nice though, although it would have been nice to see P1 off a couple of the super Ipod dudes... And finally, The P1 bio didnt look right to me, cheeks are too fat, minor gripe i suppose but as a bio freak i would like to have seen the original again, not a scarless scar bio.

Anyway, Despite my con section being larger than the plus section i enjoyed it, i really hope we get those sequalS mentioned in a Nimrod interview, just lay off the CGI next time and give us more predator screen time Pleeeeease

Just came back from seeing it. Honestly, This movie was A LOT like the first predator.
The feel to it was much the same.
You have a team of people, not knowing what the hell is going on. Finds out the Predator (PredatorS in this case) try to kill them, they each die one by one, ends up with a guy shirtless fighting one predator. Kills it. The End.

Personaly, I think they could have added in a bit more screen time for the Predators. I dont mean making the entire movie showing them, because then it would take the aspect away, but they could have added a bit more screen time with them.

Also, it felt like they died WAY to easily. The dogs indeed seemed like they were able to take on more stuff and not die.

Seeing the G1 was my favorite.

Personaly, would have LOVED if they made the G1 win the battle with the Berserker and have a fight with Brody to kinda take the aspect from the first predator.

The ending......eh...if they arent making a second one, im gonna have to say the ending was crap.
Would have been cool to see a group of elder predators surround Brody and the girl in the ending and sorta aknowledge them the way P2 ended.

Overall, was a decent movie. Could have fixed some stuff here and there.

I just saw it for the third time, and I expect a little flaming for this, but.....

I now like it better than P1

Yup.
I still don't like the way the Preds were lumbersome instead of agile, but the movie itself has layers. I encourage everyone to see it a 2nd, 3rd and 4th time.

I think it also depends on the person watching it. Of course, many members here thought that P1 was made so great, had great CGi and etc.
If we look at it now, compared to modern techno in movies, its crap (I mean compared to modern, not saying P1 is crap)
So many people will go for modern CGI and movie technology over the past. So i guess it depends on if you like the old fashion way or the new way.

Well, I saw it again last night and I loved it even more. I really like how they did the P1S. His actions, voice, movies were really really good. In all, I thought the actors did a very well job at being the Predators. Not as good as Ian Whyte or Kevin Peter Hall, but they did pretty good. The CGI fire wasn't the best, but I overlooked it as to me it was the only week spot.

My favorite spot is still when the P1S and BSP are fighting. It's where the P1S decloakes as he hits the BSP. That part is EPIC! I really think Eric Foreman played his part really well, since it was really different then any others. I believe they added him because in real life, you have these sick twisted people who do stuff like that. Kinda like the Zodiac killer--per say.

As for the part where the Falconer jumped off the 4' ledge and landed like he jumped 20'. I think he was running and jumped over the rubbish because he was chasing the group. I also like the upgrade to the bios in the aspect of seeing the people. The difference in tracking that the Falconer used was sweet.

I can understand during the Falconer fight how the Falconer was at a disadvantage. He had a disadvantage because he couldn't move his blade as freely as his opponent did.

Overall, an awesome movie...can't wait for it's release on Blue-Ray!

Just got back from seeing Predators for the second time..Just as exciting as the first time..I caught a few more shout-outs to the original Predator. Was anyone else reminded in Predators, in that scene where Braga slaps Brody and accuses him of using/setting them up, of the scene in the original Predator were Arnie confronts Weathers?

Saw the movie last night.

I guess I'll start with my hang ups.

I found it curious that the biggest and baddest Predator was hardly seen until the end of the movie. And when it did show up, it had it's bio mask on the majority of the time. You'd think that the producers would want to showcase their creation a little more....even if it did look like a Predator ****** a squid.

Moreso of a gripe I have, like many here, is that the Preds all died way easier than they should. I find it a bit of a cop out when one just gets blown up. That scene made things feel as if they were trying to rush through to the end. Not too mention they all had very little quality sceen time. I don't mind if they are hidden for a chunk of the movie but give them good screen time.

I loved the scene where it was apparent a sword fight was going to take place...until it happened. Trying not to take things too seriously, I realize the Predators are probably not accustomed to sword fighting, but watching the movements of the Predator was like watching a one legged cat try to bury a turd on a frozen lake.

Then there's Cuchillo dying early in the film. **** THAT. Danny Trejo should have been in this way more. Infact, his character should have been swapped with Morpheus and he should have been the first to die. I don't know. That whole Noland bit seemed out of place even if he did provide the other characters with some information. The very idea that someone that off their rocker could take out a Pred or two is absurd.

Now for what I liked.

You really can't go wrong with the music score. I mean, all the other movies outside of P1 didn't do it justice. It's like watching Batman with Lady Gaga playing in the background...it's blasphamy. And the end credits, well, that's just gold right there.

My favorite scene is when the Berserker Pred finally confronts the group and he shoots Stans (the convict) and you're led to believe he dies. Then when Mr. Black takes off after another person, Stans jumps on his back and stabs him all over the place. Now, I was convinced at that point he was a maniac cause you'd have to be off your ******* nuts to do that. The scene became complete when Mr. Black threw Stans to the ground, reached into his back like it was warm butter and promptly removed his spine (complete with skull!). I shed a tear of joy when I saw that.

As for the human parts, Royce was portrayed well. Hanzo was awesome (and his name is a variant spelling of one of the best RPG characters ever in Shining Force...yeah, anyway), and I thought I wouldn't be typing this, but Topher Grace did a very good job playing a fucktard. He's got some potential being a legitimate bad guy if he'd go for good scripts.

The inclusion of the original Predator was a very welcome sight. I hold that Predator above all others and I clapped upon seeing him. It's just a classic, clean looking Predator. Too bad he didn't **** up Mr. Black a little more.

I like the IDEA of Mr. Black in the sense of him being a slightly different breed, bigger, meaner and all that junk. But when I watched the movie unfold, well...I liken Mr. Black to Jason Vorhees. See, I imagine Mr. Black as the retarded looking Predator that got teased as a kid only to get massive as an adult and take out his rage when given the opportunity. Not too offend anyone, but I'm prety sure that's what a Predator looks like with Down Syndrome.

Tying the movie in with the original was something I'm glad happened. I think I'm remembering right that P2 made reference to the first as well...yeah, Gary Busey's character said something along those lines....just before they walk into the meat factory and get their asses handed to themselves. I need to watch that again.

So there's my take. I liked it even though the full potential wasn't reached. I'm sure another will be made regardless if it's in direct relation to Predators or not.

Just seen it for the first time!
I really enjoyed this movie, no it wasn't P1 but the way the movie headed was in no less a word "brilliant"
I agree with you guys about most of the CG in the film it was a bit much, but much of the CG was indeed needed!

Over all I liked it!!

You don't think the elders at the end would have been kinda weak after P2 and AVP did the SAME thing?

I just saw this yesterday with the girlfriend (trying to convert her into a fan lol) and I must say it felt like a breath of fresh air from the homeland after being away for so long lol. It felt like we got so “out there” with AVP & AVP:R that it was like “Ah! Ok HERE is a Predator movie”. I won’t go through everything but here are the things that stood out the most as good and bad.

Cons:
- It may sound weird but the movies “flow” felt inconsistent, like some parts were overly drawn out and then other parts were super fast into the next part.
- Not enough Pred time.
- Really wanted to see the multiple Pred targeting laser scene in the trailer, was not impressed by the one set of lasers from Mr. Black.
- Not enough use of Pred weaponry, but I could understand not trying to make it gimmicky as the AVP’s started to.
- Mr. Black’s 10 seconds of no bio, I wanted more.
- Tracker died a little too easily. I would say Falconer did too, but I really enjoyed the classic Japanese duel that they had so it became excusable in my mind.
- This kinda goes back to the last one but, I wish that two of them had lived for a bit longer.
- Noland, eh. I felt like his character was built up a little too much in interviews and such, when his place in the movie was damn near just a cameo for Laurence Fishburne. I liked his portrayal of the character, but I was expecting more out of him than just 15 minutes of screen time.

Pros:
- A fairly good cast.
- Nice acting (some more than others but definitely enjoyable).
- Jungle setting, not very alien-like but it had a very similar feeling to P1 and I enjoyed that.
- MUSIC! Oh lord it was so great to hear the classic Predator score!
- Falconer and Hanzo fight was cool.
- Classic Pred was awesome
- The Super Black pred head design actually ended up looking quite cool in action. In the stills I was a little skeptical but in action I could see where they were going with it.
- Mr. Black reaching into Stahns back and pulling out his spine with skull was just a pure fanboy moment for me lol.
- Pred vs. Pred was awesome but WAAY too short.
- Long Tall Sally in the credits was GREAT.

Overall, I hope to see another one. I think it was a really good attempt at reviving a pure Predator franchise. I will probably try to see it a couple more times just to get more out of it but if I miss it the BluRay will be out soon enough. Was it as good as P1? No, but I found it thoroughly enjoyable and will be buying the BluRay. On a funny side note, after seeing the movie, my gf says that even she wants to do a Pred costume now lol.

Ive seen the movie twice so far, and i love it! I rate it 9/10 and hopefully the can return for a sequal. It was awesome to be able to sit there in the theatre and watch a REAL predator movie after the last two outing with AVP.

My girlfriend got back from a week and a half vacation with her family, and im taking her to see it tonight, should be rather interesting!!

Just curious as to why they had that one Pred tied up like they did. They seemed to leave that unexplained.

I love it how everybody is entitled to their own opinion, but if you don’t like this movie you’re not a fan or not registered long enough :). Well I like this board so I give this movie a 9/10. It’s a great movie. I love it how it rehashes the original Predator, but with better characters. There is the Russian gun-toting bad-ass, the Mexican gun-toting badass, the African gun-toting badass, the Japanese gun-toting (and sword wielding) badass, the female gun-toting badass, the American gun-toting badass, the funny rapist with a knife and Eric Foreman. You instantly like these characters and you can never guess when someone is going to die. It was a big surprise seeing the black guy getting killed by a Predator first. Who would’ve guessed a black man dies first. Good thing there was another black man to replace him.

I really like Adrien Brody’s character arc. In the beginning he’s this no nonsense mercenary, who thinks everybody is slowing him down. And in the end he’s the hero. Not the likeable Spetsnaz nor the noble Yakuza who has bonded so much with his fellow adventurers he makes a last stand giving the others time to escape. No in the end it’s the selfish American who saves the day. Didn’t see that one coming.
And what about Eric Foreman who turns out to be a coldblooded killer. He deserves an Oscar for his speech about how being on a distant planet with monsters trying to kill him is better than living on Earth were he can satisfy his needs for killing people because well... there are people. Who can’t relate with that. Who wouldn’t dream of being prey on a planet far away instead of being called a monster at home.

One of the best directed scenes is where they realize they are not on Earth and they all look cool and don’t say anything about it and kinda don’t care they are on another planet. But if you look closely you can read the despair and panic on their faces. It was so subtle only a real moviefan notices this.

The only downside was Morpheus who filled them in with essential information. I enjoyed the characters correctly deducing everything because they did or would do it themselves. Hunters are the same in the whole galaxy right. Beartraps are used to slow people down so you can trap them in a net and throwing them in a pit. It really fits the m.o. of a Predator. Anyway Adrien Brody would’ve figured it out the P1 Predator would be friendly, there wasn’t any need for Morpheus to explain it all. And even if there was need for explanations, it should’ve been done like the Israeli chick knowing information about Dutch’ experience in 1987. At least it makes sense she knows about American covert operations that involve extra-terrestrial life forms.

If it wasn't for that, it would've been the best movie I ever saw.
