Nike MAG replicas (V2 and V3 only)

I've been waiting since the 28th for the new round of pics and she sent me only one pic of the same shoe as last time. She says they are the same pair in the other pic. The splatter appears to be the same but the original doesn't have the bunched up fabric under the heal cup. If that wasn't there I'd take them. Id rather have semi yellow soles with no bunched fabric so I'm going to ask to see a 4th shoe. I really hope this next pair is decent because I'm tired of asking for pics. I feel like the same couple pairs are being rotated back and forth to us until someone takes them.

Just tell them that you won't accept any yellow soles, and to refund you if they can get you a decend pair, usually they'll start to be more active when they'll see you talking about refund.

The truth is these shoes are not exactly cheap so you hope to get a nice pair for the money

That's exactly the truth. If we are paying a large chunk of money for them then we should get something we are happy with. I see the opposite with toys. Some of the fans will blindly gobble up anything they are given and not think twice. They say "we are lucky to get anything and should just be happy with what ever we get" and while I see what they mean, I don't like paying for a rare prime rib and it coming out med well. My point is I will be happy to give in one area to get what I want in the other.

I had EL panels in the soles give out & I think it's standard across the board. Whether it's the full panel or only half of the panel, this appears to be the weak point.
This is unfortunate but expected. I was enthusiastic about the V3s after seeing them but now I'm pretty hesitant seeing as how fragile they are. Yellow soles are a minor issue to me compared to the electronics dying out. There are lots of products out there to fix yellowing soles because sneaker guys have had to deal with this with Jordan/Nike shoes since the Jordan 5 popularized icy soles. Since I intended on wearing them myself I might just not touch these for awhile. I'm not naive and expect them to dramatically drop in price or anything but unless I'm sure I have someone I can call to fix the wiring it seems like paying something that will instantly lose value is silly

I'm familiar with David from a subreddit and while I'll say he price gouges many replicas, he actually has a decent customer service. I finally found a seller that was willing to do $450 shipped which I instantly felt like jumping at but the more I thought about it... if these malfunction this dude isn't going to try to replace or fix anything. David on the other hand, actually takes complaints even if his solution isn't the best. With other sellers you are on your own once the shoes are on your doorstep but other replica shoes aren't $450-600 (usually... some of you might be surprised). Basically, don't go cheap on these folks

did i mention how much i HATE what the 'forced super rare collectible' has done to collecting cool things?

why can't these be massed produced after the give away?

Yes, the shoes will lose value instantly due to the extremely high chance of EL failure. Which is why I think it's unwise to advise people "don't go cheap on these".

Even display pairs are having failures. So you may as well accept that your shoes will malfunction and pay a price in-line with that reality. Especially since David's form of customer service is to pay him more money for him to provide service if the shoes fail.

The hunt continues for a new lower price seller.

I don't know how David treats rpf people that have had faulty shoes so I can't comment on that but I've seen them give partial refunds to many people from a different forum I've been on for two years. If it's a difference between paying less from a seller I don't know who might try to do anything from doing a bait n switch to sending me a bad batch versus paying more but getting the right shoes and some money returned in the long run then I'm fine with that.

Not sure if anyone cares, but I saw a seller on eBay that has defective versions of the V2 for $40. Not a bad deal if you wanted to disassemble and swap soles or whatnot.

there were some used V2s on there the other day with a light up strap

over a year ago I might have jumped on that

From what I've read here. If a shoe breaks he charges $120 for replacement. No money back, only offers discount on future shoe orders. So if you don't want to pay that $120, all you get is a discount if you order more pairs.

And if he's giving other people better service then I'm even less inclined to buy from him and wait for another seller. Another will come along sooner or later.

Re-posting this so it gets seen.. Really need your guys help! I've had the mags now for literally a month today I think, and the bottom EL's on my right shoe seem to have a wiring issue now. I've worn them out many times and have never had a problem.. I made a video to show you guys the issue, but I have no idea how to fix it, and I'm way too scared to attempt to open the shoe and put it back together. Please help.. Thanks! Do you have to send them back your defective pair to get a replacement pair? I sure hope not, that would be stupid.

At first he was the only source for the shoe but they've been openly distributed to many sellers since then. If it isn't dropping in price now then it's really just that expensive. It isn't a shoe that is selling great so I can see why Chinese sellers are not too keen on selling them to foreigners

It's not really about favoritism, it's just that everyone knows him on the subreddit. Sketchy sellers are the norm so most people don't feel any inclination to purchase from overseas. edit: one last thing, maybe you misunderstood me but I am talking about service he's provided from buyer complaints for other replicas. I don't know what the situation with Mags are like

I need to put my v2s up right now. I just checked eBay and there are 3 auctions going for around $1k and up.

The price was set by David, who you admit gouges. Would you clarify what "really just that expensive" is supposed to mean? In what respect?

I think it's perfectly reasonable for me to have concluded that his long-standing policy would apply to all his shoes. And if that policy is not universal, it is favoritism.

I think there is only 1 pair available for the uk draw and you have to purchase the ticket at the niketown store in Oxford circus

It will be a circus for sure. I am almost glad we are not having to go through this kind of tease in Australia.

The toy/model market has gone crazy of late.

They want to raise money. They also want to limit the number of after sales complaints they will get. It is the dream almost come true, but now wishing we could all wake up from.

Damn. I might as well just keep my display pair then. I am hoping to get at least the $250 back after they are finished.

Dude that is a wire. The contacts are closing when you apply pressure. Exact same thing happened to the last pair ELs I did on my V2s.

I need to put my v2s up right now. I just checked eBay and there are 3 auctions going for around $1k and up.

Up to you. Do you really want to be one of "those guys"?

My only concern with ebay is getting scammed nowadays, especially for items that go for those kinds of prices. People can claim they weren't as advertised, you tell them to send them back, as long as they send something back, eBay/Paypal will side with them, and they could very well have sent you an empty box back. Even if they have established feedback, etc.

They've got the same supplier. When distribution opened up the price decreased from $600 range to $500. Around $500 is the most common price shipped to U.S. from talking to other sellers. I don't see the price lowering below $400 w/o shipping fees anytime soon. In the replica world, it's usually because a version of a shoe is outdated that causes a price to drop. I'm not holding my breath on this

cavx you could easily get $250 for V2s. I sold my stock ones for $220 about 3 months ago. Now or in the next few weeks would be best to sell them because of the constant news articles coming out about the 2016 mags.
