Nike MAG replicas (V2 and V3 only)

Some more comparison photos, tried to edit the last image so you could see the difference. Its subtle but the new sole definitely makes the EL panel look cleaner/slightly brighter. Got a few air bubbles in the glue, but other then that extremely happy.

Really great job!! Definitely the RDs!
What kind of glue did you use to glue them back?

Freesole adhesive 1oz is more than enough for 1 pair. Due to the long cure its really easy to get bubbles though. I left the bottom part of the shoe clamped, forgot about it came back it had bubbles. The rest of the shoe I would clamp in sections until it was really "gummy" then undo the clamps to check for bubbles and press them out. The one time I let it cure without doing this...bubbles lol. The adhesive is very strong and flexible though, no way I can get the soles back off without some serious cutting.

This pic looks like the pull hole triangle stitches are blurred, it might be a modded pair tbh, the soles are heavily yellowed compared to a stock new pair. Even tho the V2s do yellow, if this is a new pair, they look too yellow to be off the line

Is this the new slim toe V2R1? I hope they make these in black.

we do not sell it now . we will think of it
thx

I Really hope you do! Without having to assemble the shoes and add electronics, you would save on hours of labour for staff and they would be a lot cheaper for us to do the electronics ourselves and have them be reliable.

Here are the bits I used to smooth out the foam. Carbide bit and a carving bit. (sanding drum also works pretty well) Once the area was leveled out I hit it with a jet lighter quickly to get rid of the fuzz that the bits leave behind. Wiped down with 91% iso before glued. You don't want to get it completely smooth anyways, you can't see it once the clear soles go on and you need it to be roughed up so it adheres well anyways. The side soles I make are slightly thicker so the area can be sanded off, and when they are glued they will still be flush.

Would it not make sense to rub down the material just above the middle of the EL panel (the small join)? This would stop downward walking pressure from crushing it, right?

You would think so, but that might ruin the neat little recess that EL sits in.

Welcome to the forum. Feel free to run a search - you'll be surprised to see how many threads are out there based on your interests. As you can see from @cavx's Nike Footwear bag thread, he's been perfecting it for some time now. Check it out here: http://www.therpf.com/showthread.php?t=144960

And now back to the V3s, has anyone who's got outstanding orders been given updates from when their shoes will ship? Have there been any delays in the website switch over? Delays in QC pics, etc?

no problems with my second pair - I got the QC pics in a couple of days after paying (last Friday) and just got a shipping update that they've already reached the Melbourne sorting for DHL. Much more agreeable than my first order where the shipping took forever. The expected delivery date is tomorrow.

So long as it was done smoothly with a dremel, it would be fine behind the waffle I reckon. I'm only talking about a smooth 2-3mm shave of the material, perhaps even all the way around. To me, it looks like the EL panel sits in there flush which is a big no no.

How did you clamp them?

From what I could tell, they have copied the 2011 MAG with a recess for the EL. As you have pointed out, the rubber blends, flexes and even crushes under the weight of the person wearing the shoes and will force the EL to do the same. No wonder they break.

David, I don't post here to often but I am also having an issue with my shoes. The sole light has broken in 1 shoe after only 1 wear.
I sent a picture to your team as requested and they want more. Unfortunately I am out of state for a month on business and cannot get any more pics. Is there any way to get this resolved? I was wanting to buy a replacement pair. I wasn't looking for something for free.
I have met a lot of resistance with your team and it seems that several other people here are helped quite promptly with ease.

With the LEDs being sold separately now someone will be able to tell what voltage they are and do tests with more correct diffused LEDs. They would of course have to work with a battery with the same specs as the one already in the shoe.

I'd love to swap out the green ones with some like what I used to work with in uni, they were a diffuse green a shade darker than the ones on the V3s. As they are, the green gets washed out by the yellow and red.
also, WizardBTTF, those sole replacements look amazing! Make sure you start up a junkyard thread so I can replace my V3 soles when they go yellow (they havent really even started yet as I put them back in the box after wearing and cleaning them)

How much have you worn them and has anything stopped working yet?
