There is a metric ton of "sole swap" video tutorials on YouTube. The main issue I would see would be if the glue lines matched up with the shoes being different makes/models. Assuming the shoes are the same model, it is boil some water and pour it inside the shoe. Wait for the glue to soften, the pull the uppers off. The best tip I ever saw was glue the new midsoles on a little bit at a time using C clamps to hold the glue section tight.

If you don't have money and have some time and skills to modify them, i'd say yes...
But as i said, the only good part of these shoes is the sole and use it to attach a new upper (that you'll have to make by yourself)
but if you are fine with the bulky / boot shape of it, then just add a swoosh on it and you're good to go

Of course but this will mean having to dissect the upper. Honestly its going to take patience and a lot of work to add ribbing especially if you're new to modding & want to avoid any mistakes like cutting or tearing the wrong thing. Take it from someone who had the same issue almost 2 years ago.

Personally it comes down to what type of shoe you want? casual Halloween costume/cosplay Air Mags or movie accurate/RD Air Mags???

To my knowledge, no one has done that to the smooth-side HC Mags. I supposed you could try to open the shoe wall and insert something. RVLF has done extensive HC modifications to the smooth-side. He might be able to tell you if it's possible or not.

yes, i did it but you'll need to open the whole upper to make this mod right. You might be able to do it by just opening the lace area and insert your ribs in, but after that you'll have to cloe this and it is really tricky when you can't get the fabric upside down... :/

Some more comparison photos, tried to edit the last image so you could see the difference. Its subtle but the new sole definitely makes the EL panel look cleaner/slightly brighter. Got a few air bubbles in the glue, but other then that extremely happy.
