I think you have to remember though, the point of these shoes is that they're as close to the official 2011 Mag release, not the screen used prop. Creating a pair that's as close to the prop version probably isn't a priority, given that David is in the 'sneaker' game. Not the prop replica game.
Any movie related alterations don't need to be done in my opinion, being closer to the hero prop may increase sales from the likes of us, but will decrease sales from sneaker heads, as they'd look reasonably different from the 2011 official release. If you're going to do a 'sock toe' & other prop mods, then you might as well start sticking the power & elctronics in a separate casing with a cable that you have to carry around with you, as that would be even more accurate.
As they are, I think they're great & anything that can be done to take them even closer to the RD would be more of a priority.
