Nike MAG replicas (V2 and V3 only)

I go away for the summer and come back to this?! GREAT SCOTT!!!

there are only 2 things I don't like: frosted heel bubble and non blue tint.

If I knew k could wear these from time to time and they not break after a few wears I'd buy them right now.

Otherwise se they look incredible. Maybe I need to sell my V2's as I have never worn them. What do they go for these days?

Are they modded?

For size, I am a 10.5 and got a 10 in these and they fit well. I feel like I still have a little wiggle room as well

Also for anyone on the fence, i strongly suggest you buy these. $600 isn't really a lot of money for something that you want. You have to pay for a good quality product and that is what you are getting with these

@MitasTouch I think the slight blue tint looks fine. Very slight, as the 2011 had was great. It always looked WAY more blue in photos than it was in real life. If David could make clear soles that were as UV resistant as blue tinted soles than I'm all for it. But if not, then I'd rather have a slightly less accurate shoe that won't yellow as fast. My opinion.

Will you be dying the sole of the shoe that you will be painting (if you were still going to customize one of your pairs)?

This is very true. But does blue soles really make them look better? To me it's like if Nike decided to make the laces dark grey or something. Like a main piece just changed an entirely different color. I understand that blue prevents yellowing, but I'm 100% sure a company as large as Nike has the resources to make normal clear soles that are UV resistant. If @cavx can do it in his garage, then Nike sure can. Just my 2 cents. People have different tastes.

I can see your point. As when Nike first started introducing the blue soles on classic shoes I hated it as well. But I definitely loved how it looked on the RD Mags, and like Jedi was saying, the reason for it I definitely would like.

The easiest way preventing yellowing is just store your shoes in a dark place, and avoid any wet if worn outside and obviously direct sunlight. Also new shoes kept for prolonged periods in a box with shoe paper can cause issues as the paper is acidic.

Yeah ive learned to NEVER wear icey soles when it's wet. That immediately decreased how quickly some of my shoes has yellowed compared to older shoes that I wore whenever

Looks like I need to dump my V2's now as well. Sucks because they are unused and have time put in.

Haha nah don't dump em, I'm not getting rid of my 4 pairs, or however many pairs I've got of the V1's, or the Mpark Poons that are too small for me to wear.... just build another wardrobe. ;) (which incidentally was yesterdays job for me, haha)

Why does water make them go yellow?

yellowkobe so far the only customs I want to do are the Jurassic Park Mags and maybe the Pink Hoverboard Mags. I would keep the soles clear for both.

Thats not at all why they've used clear soles. Nike did their best to make a use able version of the screen used prop. Now David & his team have done their best to replicate it, because replicating sneakers is what they do, not replicating props.

The whole point of replica sneakers is that they're as close to the retail sneakers as possible, so that if you wear them out & about, people think they're the authentic, i.e. The 2011 Mags.

Screen accuracy is not what the replica manufacturers have been going for since the V2, accuracy towards the RD Mag is what they've been going for. Screen accuracy is what some of us have been going for, those that are interested in props.

If that was the case the we would've seen a half decent example of the original prop pair made before Nike released their 2011 pair, but no, we got the horrendous V1.

We basically got lucky that Nike released these in 2011 & they not only happen to be one of our favourite props from a movie but also turned into the holy grail for sneaker heads, covering both bases.
If they didn't want to go off the movie, what was stopping them from making the soles blue? That's not something that is hard for these factories.

no the kid was joking about the mags being exposed at the end. Customs were not his. But yes looks like V3s

I wore ore my pair today. Got some minimal creases but they were comfortBle
to wear. I got a lot of compliments and had my lights on for about 30 minutes with no problem. This lady had to take pictures of them. I'm really pleased with these.
