Nike MAG replicas (V2 and V3 only)

Ok so now we're waiting for the V3 with power laces? What should we name it? I vote for V3PL. It's not a V4 because it will just be the V3 obviously just with power laces.

This is definitely what's important right now with these brand new shoes. What are we going to call the next ones that may or may not happen? If the power laces actually do happen in the next year or so what will we call the ones after that? V3PLV2?

Okay guys, not to cause panic, but first faliure of the EL in the sole. Worn them around the house for about 5 mins, walking very carefully...

Still better then my V2's they were not working when they arrived lol. I guarantee you its a lose connection somewhere.Still a pain...wonder what Rebecca will say. They'll try to give you a discount I am sure, since it's normally cheaper on their part then taking a return.

Deary me.
$600 and weak wiring?

Looks like each part is seperately plugged in, The sole EL panel going off hasn't affected the strap,
so maybe you just need to open the sole insert and plug this sole bit back in, unless its snapped somewhere.
I would try opening the cardboard under the grey sole inserts and checking from there, as the battery is housed in there.
hopefully its not a big problem, unless they housed the Lithium battery and its wiring connections in hard plastic casing like V2 and Halloween Shoes,
but yeah, just when everyone was having fun and laughter thinking everything would be rosy with these new $600 reps, looks like not everything is perfect heh?!
I guess my prediction of these being $600 for just a pair of accurate uppers and soles is turning into reality if the electronics is that feeble!

Each part is separately plugged in and if I give the sole a bit of a bump it flashes. However, there is no cardboard under the sole like the V2. Under the insoles everything is stitched up very tightly & nearly exactly like the RD, there's no getting into this shoes without making a huge mess. I've contacted David, Rebecca & Martha about this, so we will see just how good the after-sales really is.

I'm sure you can cut open that bit under the sole inserts. If its just white stitched stiff fabric, just carefully cut into it and rip it off. The battery is sat somewhere in the middle according to the factory pictures.

On the V2, there was a pink cardboard and under is the white stitch fabric. I normally ripped them both out completely.
In your case, you have no option, just rip it out and inspect it.

I'm sure you can fix it if its still working by wobbling it about.

damn man. That sucks. I guess it's time to open that pair up. If it were me, I would try to open the inside of the sole up. Underneath the insole.

I'd love to open them up, however, have you had a look under the insole as yet? I'm sure you probably have, but if you haven't, they're stitched up very carefully & to be honest, with the $200 V2's I wouldn't have minded doing that, but I don't feel I should have to with a $600 product, not just as yet anyway, if you know what I'm saying?

I understand what you're saying, but I'm going to hold off until I see what they have to offer. Due to the fact that the shoe is much taller, stiffer construction & only a size 7, there's not a huge amount of room to manuvere in there.

So now they won't even flicker. At one point, they were flashing when you pressed on a particular part of the sole, which was where the connection from the wires to the larger part of the EL at the top.

Now they will not do that, I feel that it's the solder joint between the EL & the cabling rather than the plug, as all of the cabling is tucked into the sole in a cavity. Definitely cannot feel a plug connection anywhere in the sides of the shoe.

I shall let them deal with it for the moment & as I have a couple more orders with them, hopefully they will be helpful. This is what under the insole looks like, essentially the same as the RD.

There must have been a weak point like you said on a wire or solder point and just from the pressure of your foot must have caused it to break . I just hope it's not a common problem on all of them. I hope you get something sorted.

Well that's actually good news if you have to fix it yourself.

Just keeping the conversation going.

I hope things get sorted out with that shoe. If I could ever afford these, I definitely would be wearing them to conventions. Walking around, posing for pictures. I need good wiring.

My seafoam-soled HC, the 1st run of them. still going strong and I do tons of stuff in them. In fact my biggest problem atm is they are getting a bit dirty and my Poon decals are coming off because I occasionally scrape the letters with the buckles when I drive.

I tried on my pair just to see if they fit and walked around my room a few times. No failures, but I won't be wearing these even to a convention. Strictly display.
