I didnt mean to offend anyone by my comment i just was stating what i thought was best everyone has there own pref fence on what they think works best i apologize . Okay now back to the V2 custom build im sorry for taking time to post more pics but i had to get the toe shape perfect so i made a mold out of cement pairs it worked great plus this material is cheap for balk just 5.00usd this new thin plastic toe box mold gave me that classic R,D mag long toe look aside from the short high hump front that comes on the V2 mags , i change the whole look plus redid the mag ears just like the R,D ones. im also going to do the inner liner to match outside shell before i glue the shell back i will be spraying the shell with 3M reflective paint and glitter plus fabric protector. here is my progress as of now i just changed the charger tips here or pics enjoy.

I think the colour is just off due to the lighting.
If we were to make up a grey scale, what value would you say the RD MAG actually is?
What I don't get is why is he replicating that collar like the V2 MAG when the RD MAG does not have that horizontal seam?
I was referring to the fabric pattern. The real Mags are not mesh or squares, they are "lined" just like Jumbo Weave Spandex

at the moment, im trying to search for an alternative to the 1.5mm or 2mm craft eva foam because i find its too stiff and a thinner 1mm eva foam would be better i think.
I'm not sure what the 2011 RD shoes use, but they seem to be quite rigid and stiff at the upper section.
The v2 knockoff seems to have very little stiffness in the uppers in comparison. Very floppy (more movie version like i think)

what inverter/battery do you plan to use?
most of the good online shops selling el inverters are non UK,
there's not even one single online place in the Uk to get those mini circular 3v inverters.
if anyone knows any places, feel free to share.

well i finally got my V2 shoes, i ended up with 8 Pairs.
But the sizings seem to be a bit off?
I've got a V2 pair in size 11 US, which seems to be the same size as the V1 Size 12 US.
The other sizes, 10,9, 8.5 seem a bit big too.
But anyways, like i expected, the soles are pretty well made, durable rubber, and the uppers are nice and flexible and maybe not as limp as i was expecting.
Straight off though, I can see the shape of the uppers is slightly off, and not tall enough.
The height of the soles at the back though is something i still don't like. For most, its probably not an issue, but for me, the lower profile of the movie and RD shoe is what gives a certain look to the shoe.

It seems the sizing on these v2s is a bit off compared with the previous knockoffs..
V2 size 11 US is the same size as V1 size 12 US
A toemod fix and a replacement strap and its a fairly decent replica. I call it the grandchild of Mark poon, since it evolved from his version.

one major flaw with the V2s is the fact that uppers need to be pushed back a few mm.
if you look at the way the shape of the RD and movie shoe is, the actual side profile of the entire upper area sticks out further than the V2s at the top part, so its sort of leaning near the top.
When I have these V2s on my feet, I can clearly see that the heel cup is pushed slightly too far in, unlike the RD shoes, and the uppers don't lean back as much. Even if you have the shoe in your hand and try to push back the uppers near the top, they won't even reach the end of the back of the soles, so its defintely off by a few mm.
Its a very subtle but important aspect of why the RD shoe looks the way it does, and why this V2 still has the Mark Poon feel to it.

Wow, this thread has once again turned into a 'my own build' one..
Yup I do have one so, I will probably use it, or ask Caloss to install it for me, as i'm planning to get one of his modifacted pair x)

sorry, i was just trying to point out the slight difference in the upper section.
Is it possible you could do some more comparison pics of your size 8.5 vs your RD size 8 shoes?
especially a side profile one.
the sizing on these shoes is a bit strange, they all seem to be 1 size up on these v2s.
