Nike MAG replicas (V2 and V3 only)

I think somebody mentioned on this thread or another (too lazy to check, sorry), that they are going to order a big batch so maybe they will accept Paypal and get a pair from them?

I think Caloss is doing that. Send him a PM.

Caloss, you have no idea how much I`m looking forward to your project after being screwed over by shoesbagonline and waiting for the MAGs for almost 4 months. PM sent :thumbsup

I went to a movie with my wife tonight and decided to wear my MAGs out. I was very nervous about the reaction by people. I thought most people would make fun of them or laugh but I had about 7 people ask me about them. Awesome!!

Haha, nice one. Seriously, it is really hard to tell the difference between the RD MAGs and your mods, especially in the darkness. They look amazing, very well done. :thumbsup

I got my mags in today from the seller I referenced a few posts back at aliexpress.

Excellent, all lights work and the shoe is great!

Caloss, if you are making new uppers, will you change the way the collar and cuff are attached. That seam, the stitch finger pull hole and the fact the cuff is stitched right onto the collar annoy the hell out me, more so that the over pronounced ribs and round toe.

I only wore them for about 3 hours, mostly sitting, but they are very comfortable. I looked at the bottoms of them after wearing them and they look like they were barely used. Just a little dirty. They are really well made and people love them.

I agree. I've been out in mine a lot for meals. You turn around and just catch people gawping at them. I don't have my Nike logo lit up yet but I've got some of those tiny inveters on the way with battery holders. Cheers for the tip Brad.

hi guys here is a pic of the face lift process im doing on the mags .. I will be putting the on an off switch in the uppers plus refabricate the shell reduce the ribs on the sides and make a new toe shape as seen on the R.Ds i will post more pics latter after fabrication is done thanks guys enjoy

Good job Caloss. Great to see pics of the EL Nike logo setup with the tiny inverters. How long do they last for, and do you use one or two CR2032s?

It's awesome!!!

I recommend 2 of these batteries for two reasons.
1) The NIKE will be brighter
2) Having 2 batteries reduces and almost eliminates the high pitched noise from the inverter.

do you think that single 3v mini inverter would be enough to power the ankle leds and the EL for soles also?

whats the difference between this miniature 3v inverter and the other 3v inverters which come fixed with battery packs like AA and coin cells?

it says this mini 3v inverter is for 0 to 0.5 metres (0-20 inches) of EL tape.

So i assume this could power both the EL Strap, the EL for soles, and the LEDs.

or would it not be bright enough? it would be good to see a test in if it does work.

if anyone knows, feel free to share,
thanks

do you think that single 3v mini inverter would be enough to power the ankle leds and the EL for soles also? You don't need to use the inverter to power the LED's. I'm not sure the 3v is enought to power everything.

or would it not be bright enough? it would be good to see a test in if it does work. Not sure.

cool. i think i might have to try some tests
im trying to have the battery and el inverter outside of the shoe, so nothing is underneath your feet.

just a problem in finding the smallest parts and how to place them.

cloneprops buckle will fit most things inside it i think, so thats a good start.

I would recommend trying to find at least a 5v or 6v battery to power everything off one battery. I believe the real MAG's are powered off a 5v.
