Nike MAG replicas (V2 and V3 only)

well thats a shame.

about the bulges, I have no clue. either apply some sort of pressure or mabye a damp cloth and an iron? dont have a pair myself tho so hard to tell on this end. im sure youll come up with something tho. =)

I love the way the sole of the shoe on the RD leans out to the side (as seen from the back) it looks almost like they have collapsed or the wearer has twisted their ankle lol
It's a sign of the RD for sure.

Anyone else agree?

Yes, I agree! That looks cool, it looks like its a flaw almost! :lol
And Jedifyfe and Lore, the lace bulges are the FINAL very noticeable difference between these and the RD's. If they could be reduced, these would be perfect! :cool

Yeah, it feels like there is a small amount of batting stuffed in there. Not sure if any amount of heat or pressure can slim them down.

Well they don't need to be completely removed as they are visible on the RD's, so even just reduced a little.... mm even!
Do you think you could work your magic and create that 'collapsed' effect on the heel/sides?? :love

you know what would be awesome? If someone sold the light-up straps for our V2's even if they ran off of a completely separate battery that sat inside the shoe...I'm looking at you, Jedifyfe...

OK, I have to settle this because I have been INUNDATED with this request. If you watch my tutorial on the MP strap, the ONLY way to make the strap is to attach it to the white ankle buckle. I did work out a system for just the strap but I have to order a 2 coin cell battery holder. Here it is with a modified single coin cell battery holder to hold two:

So for about $25, you would make your own straps:

It makes them unique for sure. I attempted to get that bulged look when I did my clear soles (I've kind of got the front part right) and that requires a lot of extra rubber over what the V1 and MP MAG soles had. These V2s seem to be more vertical than the V1/MP MAG which was slightly hollowed in. It could be done, just know it is a serious amount of coin and a lot of work to do that though.

Does anyone know how are the EL soles are done?

As you can't just unwire the the LEDs and connect the EL panels, you need an inverter for the bottom LEDs, right?

It also has to be one piece of EL, so how do people get the space in the middle?

Hi Brad

for your v2 wiring, did you stick with one of those big 9v or 12v inverters?

Do you think that if you replaced your 9v or 12v inverter with that small circular 3v Inverter that it would be enough to power both EL for the strap and the Soles and the LEDS?

Or is that circular inverter simply too small and only suitable for just the strap? I'm curious to know.
That inverter does look quite small. I'm wondering how long the coin cell batteries would last if you were using them along with that 3v inverter using your wiring setup.

Thanks
Karl

questions on fitment. I was wondering for size 12 and how they fit to other nike size 12? I wear nike SB in size 12. Can anyone compare fitment? Only really want to rock this at Cons not as a everyday.

They fit pretty true to size, maybe even a little on the big side. I have 11's and 10's. I usually wear a size 11 in NIKE but I fit better in the 10's of these.

can i ask,

how come you have to use 2 x CR2032 coin cell batteries with that 3v inverter?

I thought 1 3v battery was enough for a 3v inverter, or does doubling it up give more longer lasting batteries.

It makes the EL glow brighter
