I will get more pictures of random stuff soon, working on the sole molds too.
You're creating new clear soles?

Interesting findings here.Oh what do we have here? EDIT: It's the battery, 1000mah not tooo shabby! AND it uses connectors so one can simply unplug it and replace/upgrade. There is enough room for probably a battery double the size in this cut out. (Although I can understand why he refrained)
Also, the battery can now be eliminated as the possible cause of the dim EL. Definitely not the battery causing it.
PS: SORRY DAVID

So now that clear sole is removed, it is actually clear of clouded? Does this diffuse the light in any way?
Can you post pics of the EL running without the clears?
I don't think I would call it a crap inverter, I believe it was designed to limit the output. Fairly certain it will be a custom made inverter, I think they do it for longer battery life, although I'd rather have it last 4 hours at full brightness then say 8 hours dim.
Inverter appears to be in the ankle buckle, checking the best way to access it. Seems I can get to it from the inside of the shoe, I don't care if the inside of the shoe is torn up, as I wont wear these ever...but if I did you wouldn't see anything has been done. When I remove it, I will probably put the new one in a sole cutout.
It's a 3.7v li-po. Yes, it has a protection circuit. Here is the exact model

The sole panel EL is also designed specifically for this shoe. It has a connector on the backside of it.
After teardown I will put them back together lol...but then they will probably just sit on a shelf...might wear them idk. I bought this pair to mod, so not sure what they will end up being for.

So some inverters can light upto a certain amount of surface area while others can do far more even though their power input is exactly the same, ex 3v or 9v.
The inverter will most likely be too weak. You can get inverters with same voltages but differing strength of capabilities. So some inverters can light upto a certain amount of surface area while others can do far more even though their power input is exactly the same, ex 3v or 9v.
An example being the tiny 3v circle inverter and the normal thin rectangular inverters I have in 9v and 3v
Do you think it will dim down the LEDs to the proper brightness? The inverter is too weak for sure...but again I feel its on purpose.
Not sure which rectangular inverter you guys are talking about, but this is the one I am replacing it with. I know it can run the shoes EL full power. My idea is this..currently the bottom shoes EL connecter seems to be the only one you can get access to without opening the ankle buckle which is basically impossible without butchering your shoes. So my plan is directing the bottom sole to a new inverter I add in the sole. Hopefully...the bottom sole no longer running off the original inverter will then brighten the strap and the new inverter will of course run the sole EL full power too. Going to try this first since its the least destructive method I can think of to get full brightness.

No, EL inverter wont have any effect on LEDS. I think the LEDs look too bright because they are so diffused. Sand your ankle bubble and either polish or clear coat it would be the biggest improvement to the blending and brightness of those LEDS.

@davidjones888 I shot you a PM
WTF, order mine the 19 july and don't receive them yet, don't event have a tracking number
Don't know about you guys, but I would rather have 5 hours of bright, than 10 hours of dim. Maybe just me.
Maybe I'm missing the joke, but I'm pretty sure that's what everyone in this thread has been referring to them as...I just came up with an idea. We will all refer to their power lace version as V3PL. I get credit for this. So it is written, so it is done.
