Nike MAG replicas (V2 and V3 only)

I may or may not have a problem. Four pairs and one more pair on the way.

whoa, congrats man, for getting them off after reading about how hard it was. On the plus side, that should mean for anyone not taking off the soles they won't fall apart anytime soon. After wearing V1's quite a bit I've had to reglue them a few times.
Thinking of that, I only just finished replacing the sole of a V1 with black pyramid mat yesterday. Didn't turn out too hideous....

I still want a couple pair of those. Does the site you ordered those AF1's still have them?

Jedifyfe, since you are the Modfather, are you going to do tests with the electronics, or only do your custom paint jobs?

Wow, that's impressive! Do you think you could give me the length and width of the V3 box, and the combined height of the box and shoes?

Box is 18" Wide 16" Long 6 1/2" Tall

Not sure what you mean by combined height...

New to the forums here but not a new fan, just wanted to say hi and that everyone on here is awesome! Lots of information and wisdom on these boards have led me to order a pair today. *fingers crossed for a smooth transaction*

How tall the shoes are + how tall the box is. I'm trying to get measurements for a display case. Also, what are the length and width of the shoes?

not sure - They originally were going to have V3's but when they pulled their V3's I didn't buy anything else from them. Can't even remember the site name right now, would have to go back though some histories to find out. Didn't order any V1's because I've already got...... umm.... 7 of those (3 of the 4 different colours)

Like most of you, I was beginning to think the V3 would never happen, and then suddenly David released them. Jedifyfe's got the right idea getting a few. I'm already putting money aside for a second pair. Just wish the shipping my first pair to Australia would hurry up and complete! Fingers crossed for before the end of next week, though that's longer than most here have waited for theirs.
(and no, Jedifyfe, I don't think you have a problem) :D

Wow you still don't have them?
That package I was waiting on turned up Thursday just past.

I just got pictures this morning of my second pair. Soles look much better! I asked for blue tint soles in the comment box but they said all they could do was send QC pictures. I'm happy with them though. New on the left and old on the right.

For rubber all color will change by time, if you put in sun like 10-20 days, all rubber color will change, but we will use more correct rubber color in future just like the left one.

Oh what do we have here? EDIT: It's the battery, 1000mah not tooo shabby! AND it uses connectors so one can simply unplug it and replace/upgrade. There is enough room for probably a battery double the size in this cut out. (Although I can understand why he refrained)

Also, the battery can now be eliminated as the possible cause of the dim EL. Definitely not the battery causing it.

PS: SORRY DAVID :(

So basically it's a crap inverter then.
Do you have pics of the inverter?
Or is it somewhere else?

The 2011 authentics use a 3.6v battery
And I have made setups using 3v which have the same brightness as 9v.

So it looks they are using some crap inverter not meant for the surface area of the strap and sole panel.

The weaker inverter will mean dim panels

Also, do you have pics of the sole panel from behind how they've wired it?

Do you have an image of the battery?
Is it having built in protection for overcharging?

Pics would be great.
By the way. What are you planning on doing to these after the teardown?

I don't think I would call it a crap inverter, I believe it was designed to limit the output. Fairly certain it will be a custom made inverter, I think they do it for longer battery life, although I'd rather have it last 4 hours at full brightness then say 8 hours dim.

Inverter appears to be in the ankle buckle, checking the best way to access it. Seems I can get to it from the inside of the shoe, I don't care if the inside of the shoe is torn up, as I wont wear these ever...but if I did you wouldn't see anything has been done. When I remove it, I will probably put the new one in a sole cutout.

It's a 3.7v li-po. Yes, it has a protection circuit. Here is the exact model

The sole panel EL is also designed specifically for this shoe. It has a connector on the backside of it.

After teardown I will put them back together lol...but then they will probably just sit on a shelf...might wear them idk. I bought this pair to mod, so not sure what they will end up being for.

I will get more pictures of random stuff soon, working on the sole molds too.
