Hey Boys!

I've been a consistent Dr Manhattan-like-watcher for several years now and I really love the forum, but I figured now that I have a reasonably steady source of income I would start trying my hand at this whole cosplay gig.
I'm currently working on a genderbent Harley Quinn costume, which is coming along slowly.
I'm very glad to be here.

Hi everyone.

I am new to this forum, but I have been participating in Star Wars costumed activities for the past 13 years. I finally have enough money to start my dream Darth Vader build. Hopefully I can find everything that I need here. Currently looking for information on shin guards, chest box and belt boxes. Here goes nothing.

Greetings and salutations everyone!

Honestly, I visit The RPF most frequently in regards to Firefly props like Jayne's Boo or Vera. Did some Jayne cosplay at DragonCon last year which included a Boo resin prop replica I painted and put together. Still looking for an adhesive better than the super glue that let me down. At least I didn't lose any parts. Need something that will bond plastic to plastic. Someone even suggested making my own mold with the parts assembled so I wouldn't have to worry about it.

Have seen some amazing Vera's on here like from CoryAlex. Wish I could have gotten in on that project run he did. Well, nice to be here and hope to have some enlightening discussions.

Hello, everyone. My name is Scott. I'm a freelance graphic designer, photographer, cinematographer, indie film director, model builder, and prop enthusiast. I'm involved in a fan film project at the moment, and have been engaged to build a Batsuit -- cape, cowl, vambraces, shinguards, the whole deal, top-to-toe. I've been pulling my inspiration from the Arkham games, picking and choosing the best bits from City, Origins, and Knight, hunting down sweet pepakura files.

Hi there! I'm Casper and me and my girlfriend just started out cosplaying! She's into make-up and really good at it and I'm an actor so it all blends together very well! Right now, since we're just starting out we're about to do Jared Leto's Joker and Robbies Harley Quinn! I've been a fan of this forum for a long time and I'm thrilled to finally be a member! Cheers!

Hello there! I've been thinking of making a small model prop of the Interstellar robots TARS, CASE and KIPP. I heard about this forum from Adam Savage's TED Talk and I thought this would be a good place to start as I have no prior experience to replicating movie props. I am however an editor, though I mostly do my own small projects I am quite familiar with the action elements present in all of the movies I watch and I have a copy of Adobe After Effects which I use to edit my work.

Thanks for giving me the chance to be a part of this awesome community!

Hey guys,
I'd like to say I found the site through my own ingenuity, but, like a lot of people, Adam sent me. Really looking forward to seeing all the awesome stuff people can make!

Hi there, I'm Jeremy.

Um, lets see. Probably the neatest thing I've made so far is the Lighsaber I just finished... several people have said that it has the best sound effects they've ever heard. That's getting published shortly:

Before that I built a Linux smartwatch into a Captn' Jack Harkness "Vortex Manipulator". That one got reported by BBC America, which was a surprise.

I like to build and fly robots around. They're not fully autonomous yet, I treat them more like an extension of me: But I never crash, so it's not very interesting to watch.

And a long time ago I built a sonic screwdriver, which I hear is popular around these parts. (sound is very quiet again, sorry. It was my first youtube video ever.)

I tried to build my own SLA 3D printer last year, but that didn't work out so well. Galvos are trickier than you'd think, and I broke the laser, but I learned a lot:

I suppose in one sense I don't really make props, but actual things. But they're not completely "real" either. They explore the space in between. Artifacts, perhaps.

And that's probably who I am. The man in-between. Standing between the light and the dark, between the candle and the star.

Hey everyone, my name is Tim, and I'm happy to be here. I signed up quite a few months ago, but didn't do much digging around initially.

I've been researching stuff for a Quicksilver Costume (X-Men: Apocalypse version) and had that V-8 moment "Why haven't I checked The RPF yet?"

So I did, and I found stuff! Go figure, right? Anyway, I'm originally from Chicago, but live in the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex now.

Thanks for doing your thing, and making this information available for sharing with the world!

I've got more ideas than I do money, but I love trying out new materials and tools.
I'm here to learn at my own pace, hopefully I'll find some techniques that are useful to me.

Hi,
I came across this forum looking for ideas on how to build a better Winter Soldier arm*, and was impressed by some of the different approaches here, and especially by the sheer amount of research people have put into many of their costumes!

*My previous attempt was cobbled together from masking tape, wood glue, craft foam, and paint--it did it's job for my cosplay, but didn't have a good range of motion and ended up fairly beat up after only a couple days of wear. It's time for Mark II. :)

Hello everyone,

I'm Paul and I live in the UK. I'm a fan of the SF genre and I love seeing the incredible creations people are showing here. My first love will always be Star Wars and a couple of years back I started digging around this and other similar forums. Inspired by some awesome sabersmiths I realised I could may be design and build my own custom saber (something I've wanted since I was five). I'm now currently on my third...........waiting for parts, like so many others.

Hey everyone, I'm from Northwest Arkansas. Just started cosplaying Bat-Man TDKR for communities, charity, and of course children. To encourage and challenge people to be the hero to someone in some way.

Hello!

After wandering around the web I randomly stumbled on this site, so I figured to check it out. I found a lot of great props in this site so I decided to sign up and here I am.

I started making props this year and so far I'm making huge progress to my skills, however I wanted to learn other methods and share the props I've made which is the reason I signed up. Overall, I made only 2 props at the moment: Skyrim dragon priest mask and a Halo 4 Recruit Helmet, the H4 helmet was my very first and I have to say it was dreadful but the Dragon priest mask turned out to be very amusing; right now I am working on a Dota 2 Juggernaut mask.
