Hi there.

Joe.

Discovered this site researching my first non-toy (well, my first any) light saber purchase while at Disney with the family this summer. I'm 56 - so - late bloomer. Discovered the prop history of the first true light saber and now I'm on an expensive tear trying to catch up with all I wish I'd know in the years since 1977 when I saw the first movie (Episode IV) as a kid visiting relatives in California.

Detirmined to build a light saber as a father-son project; project its the mythology pretty well, except, I'll never admit to turning to the dark-side...

Hey, I'm a pretty young guy who's just starting to get into making, I've been quickly absorbing information about crafting from youtube channels like tested and colin furze and I've done some personal projects such as building custom cruisers (casual mobility skateboards) and several costumes however my interest reaches beyond those things. I imagine I'll mostly be asking questions and opening threads, but hopefully I will be helpful in finding references as I have a well rounded knowledge of comics and movies and I'm excited to jump into this community.

Hello world!!
I am just someone who loves to cosplay and read comics in my spare time.
I love me some Spidey,Lantern and Batman!!!
Also looking to learn some new ways to improve my suits and props trying to do a lot of it myself with what I can.

Hello!

I am a 28 year old Alaskan living in Vancouver Canada. I am a former freelance makeup artist (my passion is SFX but I mostly did beauty makeup, I have 10 years plus of everything except prosthetics under my belt), turned bartender. I am very into Harry Potter (since it came out when I was 11) and after getting Hufflepuff robes custom made for me when I was 16 I became pretty obsessed with dressing up for fun. I have a small background in basic sewing and am getting back into it. I came here after sorting out robe making patterns and prop making. I'm working on a custom character from the Harry Potter universe right now, and this place looks like a really awesome resource! You all seem so talented and I can't wait to see more of everything!

Hi, I'm Scott and I'm just starting to get into cosplay and prop making. I heard about this place from Tested.com and figured I'd check it out.

Hello! I'm Richard from The Netherlands. Joined the 501st last year with my Troopermaster Stormtrooper kit, and got the costume building virus.
Besides new Star Wars costumes I'm into a lot of games, movies, anime and books from various IP's, and might want to take a shot at making costumes based on those!

Hello all! I've been a software engineer for over 30 years, a collector of Disney art and parks props, and a newly minted maker. I'm all in on building animatronics, concentrating on the Tiki room characters for the time being.

HI everyone,

My name is Stephen. My fiancee and I are costuming up for a special party she's having with her bride's maids this October. I have a visual arts background but all this making stuff with my hands is going to be a brand new experience, that's for sure! We'll be making additions to the Black Widow costume she bought at the store and I will be making a very analog Batman costume, kind of in the Year One vein, but with some of my own additions. I'll be asking a lot of advice I am sure, so thanks to all in advance.

Hello to all,

I am a 46 year old modeller, built my first Tamiya kit about 38 years ago. I mostly build armor but have branched out in the past few years to Star Trek and Star Wars and am currently merrily scratchbuilding a cockpit for a 13" resin Macross pod I'm converting into a 1/35 Battletech Marauder.

Hey Scott from Brisbane, Australia here. Have been looking for help with XPS foam hardening and weather proofing for outdoor application and have been directed the RPF constantly from Google image searches so decided enough of the lurking and have registered to share my journey.

Current plans are to build a giant Lego Minifig out of XPS foam for outside use in my kids play area. Still working on the whole weatherproofing and hardening options.

Looking forward to the help and offering what I can to help others.

Hi guys! I'm Deven from Southern Cali, I'm a 22 year old leatherworker and enjoy making costumes from used/recycled/upcycled materials and leather. I was referred to this site from my Trainer Brian (HI BRIANNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN), and my current project is a Grey Warden suit from Dragon Age. After that I plan to do some cool original characters, and maybe other cosplay things ^ -^

Hello RPF folks

My name is Oasim Karmieh I'm a freelancer 3d artist, I have been working as a freelancer for the last 13 years You can check out my work here http://www.oasim.com/ .
2 years ago I purchased a 3d printer and I started tinkering and creating some props and toys, mostly for my own collection, but this year I had the courage to create my first product https://karmieh.com/ a resin art toy, and I just shipped my first edition and still trying to figure out my 2nd edition and maybe my next toy.

I heard about the RPF from Tested and it's an absolute pleasure to be in such a beautiful place filled with dreamers and makers! Looking forward to learn from you and hopefully have to something helpful to share with this community!

Glad to be here, I hope I'll be able to learn something and pass it on. This place has been priceless to me as I researched a project and it shows the best parts of the internet, people sharing information and good intentions.

I'm Joe... been making mini stuff for gaming but going full tilt for some cosplay in November.

EVA armor, some cartoon heads, and a few weapons props. Going somewhat cheesey for the first time out but figure good for getting my feet wet.

Not letting me edit to post a pic :(

Hello all. My name is Ashley but I've been visiting this page for a long time. Now, I really want to start learning how to make my own costumes. I have cosplayed in the past but I paid for all of my costumes. So hopefully, I can learn some tips on how to sew and what not, that would be great. Thanks a lot!

Hi folks! I am a huge Mortal Kombat fan and have made several cosplay costumes with the MK theme. I work primarily with composite materials but also do some textile work when needed and even metalwork.

Here is my MKX Sub-Zero. I am still adding to it but am done for now.

Next project is Secret until after rAge Expo 2016. :)

Me in my MKX Sub-Zero Cosplay. Excluding the shoes, everything was handmade by me. The 10 throwing knives are actual steel knives I made. This means it is not Con-safe in this version. For Cons where real steel is not allowed, plastic versions will be used.

I had a head cast made in foam to do fitting of the balaclava and mask. The mask is made from Epoxy resin and fibreglass. There is a button-cell and LEDs for the lighting effect.

The ICE-sword is made from resin with filler and has an aluminium core.

Hey whats up guys,

originally I stumbled upon this site back when you teamed up with Erik Beck and Indy Mogul for an episode about halo armor. I`m lurking since then and now finally registered.

Well there's not much to say about me other than I'm an amateur filmmaker / student from germany (so excuse my sometimes kinda bad grammar ;) ). My projects will mostly be clothing and easy stuff at the moment but i look forward to learn some skills from here to tackle more advanved projects.

If you want to know anything more feel free to ask.

see you in the RPF,
Semi

Hello everyone!

I'm really new to the replica building especially since I've not done anything even worth posting here.
There are lots of props and costumes I'd like to recreate or have recreated at some point.

My all time favorite would be to recreate the sword and headpiece of Pyramid Head from Silent Hill.
