Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hi there. My name is Steve, good to be here. I've been around for a couple of months, finally decided to join now that my project is almost finished. Just wanted to say thank you for being here, and putting all this information out there for people that are willing to search for it. I literally could not have finished this thing if it wasn't for therpf and botb.

I did a Dark Knight build, it was my first, and I think it turned out pretty damn good. Still needs some work, but it is about 95% completed. I wore it to an event a few days ago and it was a big hit. I'm about to post some pics in the costume vault, just wanted to introduce myself.

Thanks again,

Steve

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Shaun from Sydney, Australia here!

Been getting more and more into costuming, mainly for Medieval Reenactment, but a few friends and I are planning on going to a few conventions around here in costume (I'm starting to work on a Magneto, two of them are doing Robert Baratheon and Rhaegar Targaryen, another is doing Minnie Mouse) so in my searches for the perfect Magneto Helmet (there are a lot of them and they are all pretty much awesome, but shipping to Australia is an understandable problem) I of course stumbled upon this website. And it. is. GLORIOUS!

Looking forward to getting some much needed advice and tips from all of you!

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hello everyone.

My name is Clayton and I am from Brazil. I am a member for over a year, but never introduced myself. In fact, I have created a thread this morning which hasn't been posted yet, I don't know what might have happened. Can anyone help me?

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

I just realized I never introduced myself.

My name is Martin and I'm from Germany. I joind the rpf almost a year ago and I've been "infected" by the "crafting virus" ever since. My biggests projects are currently my first foam build (Iron Man Mark III speed build) and a original design for the Winter Soldier Artivifal arm. Links can be found at my signature :)

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Greetings all, my name is Craig and although I have heard about this website for a few years now I only got serious about creating an account after watching Adam Savage talk about his Jason Bourne 'Go Bag' on Tested.com's YouTube channel.
I've done Renn Faire for a few years as part of an archery guild. I also have 13 years of experience with AutoCad that I hope I can utilize in some way to help the other members here in the future. For the past 5 or so years I have also been into MilSim airsoft and enjoy heavily modding airsoft guns to increase performance (ROF, FPS, etc.)
I really love the amount of thought and effort that goes into a highly authentic prop replica.

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hey Guys I'm Scott. I'm a huge Spiderman and Robin fan. I found this site when researching spidey suits and I'm so glad. I can't wait to get started on it.

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hello everyone! My name is Michael, and I am one of those odd birds - a Jack Sparrow costumer/impersonator. I've been donning the eye makeup and dreads for ten years as of the 18th of October (which is really crazy to think about). I am not someone who does a lot of heavy fabrication, or eve a ton of complicated sewing projects, but I do consider myself a costumer and a prop-maker in my own right. I am also a huge Lord of the Rings fan, and I love fantasy in general, so a lot of my costumes are in that vein. I perform at the local renaissance festival, and I am also slightly active in the local SCA chapter, so much of my work tends to be more historical in nature, but I do love making replica costumes as well.

Right now I'm gearing up for making a Bard the Bowman costume from the new Hobbit movie (I practice archery regularly, and I think I can pull off the look rather well), but there are dozens of other costumes I would love to put together in the future - if I ever find the time.

I have lurked around here a little for quite some time, but I avoided joining because, to be quite honest, this place is dangerous for me - both in terms of my spending too much money, and wasting too much time. Still, the issue of finding a good, inexpensive material to make Bard's coat out of has made my finally go ahead and sign up. Glad to finally be among the ranks of RPFers!

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

My name is Michael and I have been around costuming a while. Storm troopers, Ghostbuster, some misc. movie costumes, but I must admit that I have been away from it for a while. I took my daughter to Wizard Con the other day and all the costumes there really sparked the old flame for costuming. I found myself looking at the construction wondering how I would have done it or what they used for the build. The bug bit me again and I fear I'm back in the costuming biz. Never been on the RPF officially. Just lurking around here checking everything out. Love the work that is on here and I figured it's high time I introduce myself and get serious about this. Thanks for having me and I'll see you around the forums.

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hello! My name is Justin. I'm a member of the 501st Legion and getting more serious about my costuming. My fiance also into costuming and we're seeking informations on building the characters from the movie, 9. I saw a few pictures on instagram from the Portland Comic Con and a friend directed me here. Looking forward to getting into many different discussions here.

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hey all, I'm Derek, in Jacksonville, NC. I'm an active duty Marine of 13 years, with an awesome wife two great kids, a brand new puppies and two slightly angry cats (mainly angry due to the new puppy).

I'm incredibly new to all of this, but am totally fascinated by it all. Growing up I was really into modeling, but haven't done any of it for many, many, many years. I plan to start off small (budget, ya know? :D) in the paper props and move on from there, learning a ton a long the way. Thanks all!

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hello RPF! My name is Chris. I'm another in what I suspect is a long line of Tested fans joining The RPF. I have yet to replicate a prop. I just love making, and you guys are amazing at it.

I actually just today realized I want to replicate my first prop. So I'm now considering seriously what would be the most satisfying thing from my fandom to have and hold.

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hello,

My name is nick. I used to work with a friend doing some prop stuff and my friend went on with some of my help and made a full ghosbusters outfit as well as some other stuff I moved on to working reniassance festivals and recently returned to the world of this kind of stuff only to find all the forums I used to use no longer existed.. so here I am starting anew.

Planning on working on a nightwing and/or Red Hood costume for myself and am still going through the phases of figuring stuff out. the whole body suits thing is very new to me so I am unsure exactly how or what I am going to do for it but I look forward to elarning as well as seeing other ideas for other costumes and working with some friends and their ideas. Should be fun.

Thanks

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hi everyone, my name is John. I got into costuming and prop making a few years ago when my fiancee wanted to go to Anime North in Toronto. But I've only recently discovered RPF. Before finding you all, I had made a few props and costumes from Kingdom Hearts and even a suit of foam armor from anime OVA "Karas". Here's a link to a video of that armor if any one is interested: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=__CvbaDf6FA&feature=youtube_gdata_player

Now that I've discovered pepakura, I'm really excited to take my armor to the next level and I'm working on a new series Cyberman in foam. Hope to start a build thread soon.

Great to be here!
