Hey there! I'm a total newbie at this! I'm currently in school for special makeup effects and have just recently become very fond of creating armor, weaponry, and other props. I've just finished working on a short film for school and wil be wrapping the first of four shorts for an anthology very soon. I'm a very skilled makeup artist and I enjoy painting eyes for sculptures and animatronics. This is all very new to me, but this seems like a great community to be part of! I look forward to seeing what comes out of this!

Hello,

I am a virgin to the Cosplay world. I've done foreplay where I wore clothing that resemble a character. Of course no one got it. I trying to step up my game. Again, I have no idea what I am doing. So if anyone can point me to the right direction I am also looking for a mentor to assist me. That will be great. All of you guys who have been doing this for years are amazing and I hope I can come close to your status. I want to do the Red Hood as my first cosplay character. Any suggestion please help. I'm new to this hobby, but I've always had an interest learning about it. A friend, (DrukenMynock) recently turned me on to cold casting and mold making. I just finished my first attempt at an armor and helmet build. I made a Junior sized Sith Acolyte costume for my 6 year old son.

Ok my turn.

Ky name is Ruben van Aken and have been building props for some years now, mostly fantasy based for one of my hobbies is larping and good props make a good setting to play in. As for movie props I Got a resin (re)cast e-11 and am working on some Stormtrooper armour for some years now. Well if I say working I mean its in a box and has been painted green for a Android costume, really need to get the paint off of that. I also Got a trooper helmet cast from a anh one, identified hy some scraches also seen in the movie.

Did some Nerf painting and a lot of medieval stuff, I'm also into historical European martial arts.

I live in the Netherlands so my English isn't that good, please forgive me for that.

I found this forum after wachting tested on youtube, been reading/learning a lot this last few days and will he here a lot.

Almost forgot, I also made two custom mando helmets a few years ago when I was a member of the tdh forum, not nearly as good as the ones there but Its a start. And I'm working on a e-11 at the moment

Greetings! New to the site. Just found out about you today at a cosplay convention here locally. Looking forward to learning and contributing along the way. I grew up collecting comics and always wanted to be Captain America when I grew up. When I grew up I wanted to be that kid again. lol Now I have a daughter that loves anime and is getting into cosplay. What better way to channel my inner geek than to use it as an excuse to spend quality time with my kid! Only way this could get better is if beer magically appeared when I ran out. Anyway, glad to be here and looking forward to learning and sharing ideas.

Hi, my name is Ruby. I learned about this forum a couple of years ago from a friend who's an old member here. I've visited a few times, getting awed at all the talent and magnificent creations.

Finally registered a few days ago and look forward to joining some conversations. I am an avid crafter and DIY-er, and have recently delved into costuming. I consider myself a newbie, so let me just start by saying thank you to all of you wonderful folks who so generously share your experiences and advice. Kudos to you all!

Hello everyone! Heard about the forum from Adam Savage on the Tested youtube channel and I'm loving what I have found so far. My experience is mostly from painting miniatures for Warhammer, Mordhein etc. but I would like to move into prop building and recreations. There are some unbelievable works on this site and I hope I can get better at the craft.

Hey! I'm new here and am very interested in doing some foam builds. I have been experimenting with EVA foam and am looking at making Dark Trooper armor and helmet for a friend of mine and maybe a set for myself. I've been practicing with pep files unfolded for foam and also have done some scratch building.

This gun was my first scratch build. And I am hoping to do some more.
