Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hey all, just got into prop making recently, mainly out of an unhealthy interest in all things Iron Man related. I'm in the process of getting an arc reactor kit from Throwing Chicken, and am now looking for a good helmet builder. Any suggestions from a seasoned forum member, or anyone with prior experience on who's currently making the best helmet casts would really be appreciated.

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hey all, shsims here, Im brand new (nuub) to costume making (pepekara) and from what Im seing its a very interesting and challanging craft. I have a lot of experance in model building though, Ive even won a few contests back in the day doing car and airplane models. Well anyway Im going to attempt building a Ironman Mk6 helm from paper to start, some photos later. Then Ill think Im gunna try to make some MK6 foam armor. I am sure getting alot of good info off of forums and treads so its making it alot easier. I do have one question if anyone can help, I cant seem to find, pepekara file for the Mk6 foam helm, If ya hae a good link to one, let me know. Thanks for all your help in advance, and I will be reading your thread a lot for info

Hi All,

My name is Simon and I am the brother of Mark (CastFromOriginal). I have lurked here for a while, but am now jumping in and posting. I just found Flattery's "Nine Gates Of The Kingdom Of Shadows" Book thread and am truly impressed....

Anywho, I collect Michael Myers masks as my primary interest, but do like other props of interest and look forward to having fun here.

Here is me all suited up and on the phone, haha:

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hello everyone, my name's Orlando and I came across this site by using Google and trying to find info on a Rocketeer jetpack. That was some time ago and since then I've visited a number of times and admiring all the great examples of prop replicas. I love sci-fi and have collected and built some replica props over the years myself. These include Star Trek weapons, Federation medical props, Battlestar Galactica blasters, Star Wars stuff and so forth. I'm also a model builder. You can see some of my stuff on Starshipmodeler and most recently Culttvman.com. I look forward to visiting this site further and participating in some of the group posts and discussions.

Been lurking for a while. Lots of cool things going on here. Especially like the budget builds as I am but a poor student at the moment. Hope to have some time over summer break to try a few things.

Hello out there! I'm Tiki J.
I grew up in showbiz and have been around sets, props and especially costumes all my life! I am currently working on an 800 sq foot space in my home for an Enchanted Tiki Lounge! It started off as an at home recreation of the Walt Disney Enchanted Tiki Room, but has morphed in to a mesh of that and the Jungle Cruise. It started to take that turn last year after I visited Disneyland last year and spent the better part of my evenings in Trader Sam's. So all that being said, I have collected many actual Disney props and some commercially produced replicas for said endeavor. Through the exploration of the work done in the Enchanted Tiki Room, I came across the art of Rolly Crump, the lead designed and sculptor for the attraction. He also had a major role in the creation of the Haunted Mansion. So not I'm a fan of those props too. I recently added one of the Haunted Mansion skulls used as decoration and accents in the Halloween version of the Haunted Mansion. Now I am on the quest for the Bat Stanchion used though out The Haunted Mansion for the crowd control queues.
Take some time and explore my blog. There are some interesting Disney World and Disneyland props being used.
Hang loose!
Tiki J.

Hi!

My name's Kim, been a trooper with the 501st and Rebel Legions here in Victoria Australia since 2007. Looking to diversify the movie-prop range to suit (pun intended) more occasions.

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hiya guys, I have lurked around here and there for about 6 months and decided to start posting since I am almost done with my first project (which is zer0s helmet from borderlands 2.) It honestly looks really good for a first project but that is because Detravoid (who is a personal friend of mine) has decided to take me under his wing and oversee my helmet. I hope to learn a lot from everyone here and help others who also are looking to get into prop making as well. I'll be making a lot of replicas as well as my own creations! The community here is pretty awesome and I hope to add to it.

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hi!

They call me the Dick Mick because I'm Irish and a total jerkass. Some people from the Ghostbusters fandom know me as Dan Shannon, founder and former member of Ghostbusters: Chicago Division.

I had been building props for a good number of years now and after completing/buying all the props for that fandom... I'm bored with it now. You can only build the same equipment so many times before it gets tedious.

Up until a few months ago, I had been trying to find something new to play with. Of course, I was doing SOME MiB stuff, but my pallet was still in need for something new. That was until I discovered the Fallout series.

Okay, I started working on Nuka Cola...

Then I made various caps...

Then I finally went insane and made a Sunset Souvenir Lamp...

Well, I'm planning on doing more Fallout related stuff including Jet, Stimpaks, and Radaway. Seeing the RPF has the largest collection of psychos building Fallout stuff, I figure I'd FINALLY come here after many years of putting it off.

Glad to be here!

Hi Everyone,
On my search for a BTTF save the Clock Flyer I came across this forum.
My first impression is that it is totally awesome what you build. I have only seen the tip of the iceberg but I am VERY impressed.

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hello all. I've never built anything cosplay-wise. I never even knew it'd even be possible by the average pleb like me. I've been floating around in here for the past few weeks, utterly fascinated by Pepakura and foam armor suit makers and I'm realising that these are people like me, and very possibly, I might be able to pull something like this off myself. Maybe

I'm a 37 year old male, married with three kids, musician in 2 bands as well as a solo acoustic gigging musician. I've always had an arty side to me and in 2010 designed and painted my own custom guitar dedicated to Steve Vai, whom I got to meet and have him sign it as well. After that, I've felt kinda lost. I want to tinker, I want to craft something and I never knew what. Here it is "Design a Jem" Contest Loser - YouTube

I think I've found what I want to play with next. ALL THIS INCREDIBLE STUFF YOU GUYS AND GALS ARE DOING!!!!! Utterly jawdropping stuff.

I have a Dredd 2012 raw cast helmet on its way to me right now so that'll get me started playing about but I'm really interested in making a EVA foam Iron Man outfit. I'm not even the hugest fan of iron man, but that suit is one of the most badass suits ever put to film. FOr sure I'd love to make the Dredd outfit, but it looks way outta my league at the moment.

There's so much great information on this site I can't believe it. Awesome. I'm a real movie and gaming geek at heart, I want my own suit of something or other to blow people away with and take further pleasure to say I did it myself.

Here's hoping!

See you all soon.

Hi I'm Mike. Been lurking on here for some time now. Just now really starting to get into movie props. Love this place so far though.

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hello everyone!

I have allways had an interest in movie props but never really got the thumb out of my ass to make them. So I came across this place in the hopes of getting some good ideas and help from you guys. I have worked as an artist for a few years here in sweden, but i am starting to get bored on allways painting, now I want to make stuff!

I was planning to upload some of my paintings but i dont think its the right kind of forum for that, but if you are interested just pm me.

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

:) Hello, good evening, ...
I live in Europe and more specifically in Belgium: Land of the "Fried", the "Beer" and "Chocolate".
I could tell you about my country, but if I'm here first and foremost, is to be able to like all of you chat with people passionate about movies, games etc ...
My passion: * Magic *, I have been doing more or less twenty years ..... but I am fascinated by films such as "Back to the Future," "Harry Potter" (Of course), "Predator "," Matrix "," Pirates of the Caribbean ", ................. and the list is still very long ...!
For now, I'm quite looking for anything that approximates BTTF.
I have some "Props" as any "Fan" respectable, but I would like to discuss, and why not, "exchange" of ideas on making replicas ....
Thank you for reading this entire message until the end, I wish you a great day (or evening) ......
See you soon ...
Sincerely,
Ben!

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hi, I've been lazy and not posting

So, I started out with a couple daft punk builds a few years ago.

Then I saw a couple Iron Man builds at Fan Expo 2012 and they looked pretty good. I said to my self, "I could do that"

Started doing some research and found Stealth Cosplay Tutorials and X Robots on youtube...

Though I felt like standing out from the rest of the people building a mark 6 suit and started building EyeOfSaurons Ultimate Iron Man file just last week.

Now I'm on to the next part...
