Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hello Everyone,
I like the classic horror stuff and comic stuff. My favorite artist are Mike Hill and Greg Nicotero. I also enjoy collecting posters.

I have a few unique life-size creations.

hope to see some cool stuff soon.

thanks,

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hey RPFers,
I've been contemplating this post and been lurking for a week now.

I was actually led to this site from some searches and interest in making some cosplay for an upcoming con/Halloween. After I a while, I found and fell in love with Adam Savage's "Inside the Cave" videos on Tested.com and YouTube. After listening to all of the Adam Savage Podcast episodes, I finally decided to check out this website he mentioned fairly often.

And I love it here!

I'm currently doing reference research for the props I want to make, books and objects from Terry Goodkind's Sword of Truth series (some of you may also know the tv series, Legend of the Seeker).

Hello people of the RPF,
I was lead here after my interest in building was renewed and I came across Adam Savage's podcasts on YouTube.

After lurking around for a good while I found this place to be amazing, so many people working on, sharing and helping with each other. I registered an account here hoping to do the same!

I've been looking up threads and posts for the projects I have planned for the summer, particularly for the Blade Runner blaster, clone trooper armor and a few other objects of interest.

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hail and well met! I am a long-time lurker, decided to finally take the plunge and join up. I do a lot of Star Wars/Sci-Fi costuming, and have used RPF threads as inspiration/help for some time now.

You all do some great work for the entire community - keep it up!

Battlerager, out.

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hey! I'm new to this site. Found out about it at a convention from an awesome Deadpool cosplayer in Tasmania, Australia.

I'm not very experienced with making my own stuff for cosplay, but I'm hoping to learn some skills to make them for contests and things. Some costumes I'd really like to try making are Deadpool and Richard the Warlock from LFG. Maybe Zee Captain from RA as well.

The only cosplay I've done so far was bought. It was Ezio from AC2. I've cosplayed in this costume twice, once normally and once with half the stuff missing (due to someone not mailing them to me) and I improvised with a vinyl, hooded jacket and a bought hidden blade. I looked more like a potential look for Desmond with that one.

Both times were a lot of fun and encounters with other characters were always amusing.

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hello everyone. I found out about this forum from listening to the Adam Savage Project podcast. I really look forward to seeing what people can make, as well as learning from everyone.

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hey, been lurking for a few, and doing a lot of reading here. Some very impressive talent. Just a humble elevator mechanic myself, but figured to give it a go on making some props and whatnot.

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hello. Came across this site watching makerbot vids. Very cool

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hi, I'm Nico.

Found out about this place from some of the local cosplaying / armour-building legends and decided I should jump in, especially since I'm trying to improve my skill level at making stuff.

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Howdy, I'm Rachel! I make a lot of half-baked costumes and cosplays that take too long to finish so I lose interest mid-way, which is something I'd like to change. I'm still pretty new to this stuff, I do a lot more digitally than physical. I enjoy organic sculpting, casting, and painting, and I hate sewing. I would really like to get into armor building. My fingertips have become nearly immune to hot glue burns.

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hello everyone! My name is Brian Earles, and I've had an interest in prop making for awhile now, just haven't had the time until recently. Now that I do, I'm looking forward to learning all I can about it.

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hi everyone, I'm Nick. I came here because I want to build an HIC and MSE droid. After seeing the incredible creations people here have made, I now have a back list of other projects I'm inspired to do.

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hi. New here. I have various props from various productions, a lot of license plates plus stuff I pick up at the prop recycling shop in Brooklyn like this subway sign from an unknown production.

Hey there everyone! My name is Pat and i'm from Winnipeg, Manitoba Canada. I heard about this awesome site from the Still Untitled: The Adam Savage Project podcast and long story short I signed up, haha. I want to get more into costuming and weapon construction. So far its just mods and random things here and there but I will post some stuff eventually. Have a great day!

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hi,

I'm relatively new to prop making. About 2 years ago, I started trying to make a replica Ghostbusters Proton Pack, but pretty much all I have are resin parts from ebay. :cry
I recently started to get a little serious about getting more and into prop making. I built myself, with the help of a good friend, a decent workbench in my basement. I've also been watching videos on 2 part mold making, and pretty much have everything I need to start making them except for the silicone mold mix. I'm very excited to start playing around with this and making molds. I'm hoping to be able to finish at least 50% of the proton pack this year, and maybe make other things as well.

I've looked at a lot of posts on here over the last couple of months, and I'm really impressed, and jealous with everyone's props & skills. This isn't going to be a career thing for me, so I won't be getting too much practice, but I hope to be able to get semi competent in prop making, and can maybe post some pics of something that I make in the near future.
