Re: >> New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! <<

Hello! My name is Maeve. I've been cosplaying for about 8 years now and have mostly kept things fairly simple with my cosplay projects. But now I want to take the next step with prop and armor making. Honestly, I'm clueless and could use all the help I can get. I'm currently about to start working on a Traditional Sejuani from League of Legends cosplay and I'm in the research process with figuring out how I want to make her flail and armor!!

Anyway, I'm very excited to meet more people and learn many new things!!

Here are some of my past cosplay and costumes.

Love the octopus!!

Re: >> New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! <<

Thanks! Totoro looks worried about something!

The Octopus and pac man skull and Hammer are all cane handles I used to sculpt. I've just started doing helmets and armour myself. Check out Evil Ted on youtube for some great EVA foam tutorials. He just did one on female breast plates.

Hey everyone! My name is David and I'm huge into comics, especially Marvel comics. I've been going to New York Comic Con for about 3 years and it's about time that I begin to cosplay. I've been lurking around here for quite sometime to gather enough information to create me something I will enjoy wearing to the convention and many more to come. My favorite super-hero is Spider-man and I hope to cosplay as him and have fun when I do. Wish me luck, and see everyone around!

Hey, everyone. I'm Ryan, and like just about everyone on here, I'm huge into movies and TV shows. For me specifically, Star Wars and Marvel movies. I'm about to make my first serious foray into comics (I've read a few, but not enough to hold a serious discussion about them). I've been lurking in anonymity on the forum for about a year or two, and I finally decided to join. I'm currently in college, so for now I'm limited in what I can do, what with time and money being taken up by school. I'm about as green as can be when it comes to prop-making and costuming, but I've learned a fair amount just from lurking. At this point, I'm mostly here for ideas for future projects, and I've been blown away by the things I've seen on here, and I'm really looking forward to trying some things out when I get the chance. I plan on starting a Captain America movie shield as my first project, so I'll probably get that up on here when I get that going. Thanks, and keep up the awesome work, everyone!

My name is Roger, I've been a long time viewer of this page. I love all the builds, the amount of talent and creativity found on here is stunning. I'm a comic book nerd Captain America and Superman are my all time favorites. Finally decided to sign up and show off some of my works as well. I'll start with my classic powder coated Captain America shield that I got the instructions from right here on the rpf. I'm looking forward to being an active member of the boards here. Keep up the great work everybody.

Uh, Hello! My names Elizabeth, or Lizzy! I joined recently so I could get better at my costuming craft. I'm still a beginner, hence my username! haha

Hi, I found this site while searching for tutorials and models for the scout armor from HALO 4. I am planning to make a Sarah Palmer build for myself and a Scout variant for my husband. I have been having bad luck with the 405th forums lately so I hope that theRPF can fill in the gaps.

Hello there! I'm Hellwolve. In real life, I'm called John. I'm a 29 year old self-titled 'über nerd', something I've done thanks to having all kinds of geeky hobbies; Warhammer, Magic: the Gathering, computer games, P&P RPG's and last, but not least, LARP and costume building.

You can have a look at my current collection of costumes here. In the future, I hope to expand that collection with a Star Wars inspired costume, something I've dubbed a 'fan costume' - the "fan" part used as it's used in 'fan fiction'. Not a replica of a existing character, but something new that'd fit in the universe. Hence my lurking here; I'll be looking around for ideas and inspiration. Once I get started for real, I'll probably start some threads for showing progress.

Hello

Tony Swatton here.I am a an artist blacksmith who has created edged weapons and armor for film, T.V. and video games for over 30 years.[

Hello, my name is Adam. I'm a big fan of spiderman, and I'm looking forward to making my own costumes and sharing them with you all. I have never been to comic con but I hope I can go this year or the next but I want to go as something awesome and that I made with my own hands, and not something I can get on Internet. I don't know a lot about making full costumes but I do know how to make a mask and some pretty good and cheap spiderman lenses, I am correctly looking for patterns and I've seen Iracel awesome costumes and if you want to make your own costume then you should go look at his they are amazing http://www.therpf.com/members/iracel/ if you guys got any ideas you are willing to share then please do :3

Hello everyone!
I have recently become aware of this forum and thought I'd look around a bit.
I've seen some pretty amazing things so far and look forward to see even more!!

I don't build to many props per say but, I would like to start to build some things
that I like. Currently I'm in the process of painting a Han Solo blaster Hasbro toy
and making a few of my own modifications to add to the "realism". Which I'll post
some photos of ( yeah, another painted toy ). ;~)
After that, I'll start repainting a Boba Fett Blaster toy.

So needless to say I am a Star Wars fan but have had my eyes open to all the
other cool props I'd like to make after stumbling on the youtube channel "Tested".

Happy building everyone!!!

Hello there! I´m new on the forum, also new on the prop making, but i´ve already done a few proyects, and i would like to keep learning and getting better, so... here I am.

on a side note, i am currently trying to find someone who specializes in building torso pieces using foam rubber, latex, spandex, and airbrush details. im looking to have a halloween costume made so i can have a blast this year with my kids.

if you live in the Greater Toronto/Hamilton Area and can either help or recommend someone, please let me know. so far i havent had any luck finding anyone who can help

Hi there - I'm Kev, newly arrived here - pointed in this direction via a modelling site as I'm looking for info on an old TV21 Magazine story. Shall post my request in General modelling, as I'm not heavily into props.

Cheers

Kev

Hey

My name is Nathalie and I like doing cosplay a lot.
I am a huge fantasy and science fiction fan and my dream is to one day make a beautiful full Jaffa cosplay (Stargate).

I have only recently started to use actual prop making-materials but I want to seriously start making weapons and armor-pieces now.
I have seen some work on Stargate-props on here that's pretty cool! I am looking forward to learning something from you guys and I hope I can get some helpful criticism too when I show my work here :)
