Hello everyone!

I'm Athanasios, from Greece. I've just finished high school, and while I've had the opportunity to dabble in prop and costume making before, I really haven't have had much time for any serious projects. But now that I'm taking a gap year and finally have time, I'm beginning to get into costuming/cosplay again. I'd heard about the RPF before, and have even browsed its pages seeking (and finding) ideas, tips, and lots of fantastic advice.

I'm really hoping to get to know the community and I'm eager to gain experience and share suggestions, tips, advice, and generally anything that can help me (and everyone!) improve.

Right now I'm working on my first serious costume, Ezio Auditore in his Ebony (Brotherhood) suit. So far I'm excited with how it's turning out, especially since it's the first costume I've ever made entirely by myself.

I also wish I could meet you all face to face easier, but living across the ocean makes things a bit difficult :p

EDIT: Here's a sneak peak of what my suit's looking like so far. Still needs a lot of work, and I only have a week until my local con so I'm really busy.

Hi All,

Been a member of the RPF facebook group but figured I'd join the forums too so I can post my projects here as well.
Mostly stick to video game related projects and comics, in the middle of a N7 Armor build which is going well so far.
The chest part is mostly finished:

Perviously only really did stuff for Halloween but I'm taking all that enegry and applying it to making stuff all year round.
Also do a decent bit of steampunk.

Looking forward to leaning from the very skilled people on the forums here and sharing my own efforts.

Hello everyone, I am Larry. Most of my background for building has been more utilitarian with the exception of some models and Nerf repaints, but I am very interested in learning new things and plan on trying out some pepakura soon.

Hello!

I've been going through RPF in and out a couple of time for cosplay advice and references, and finally made an account here because why not :) I'm still a student (lol) and I live in Singapore. I'm into art and games, and of course, cosplay! Currently I'm working on a Demon Hunter cosplay from Diablo 3, (which is going to be kind of tough I guess), haha!

Hello everyone, I have lurked around the threads for a while, then decided to join and I must say I am very impressed with all the members and their talent. I currently am brand new to costuming and have an NCR Veteran Ranger from Fallout New Vegas as my first build. So far I have only pepped the helmet and mask and fiberglassed the mask, I am taking my time, but realizing mistakes quickly and finding the frustration in not being able to figure something out haha. Thank you all!

Hi all, i've been lurking the forums for a few years but finally decided since I am getting into making more and more things that I should just up and get myself registered after all this time so, hello! Long time reader, first time poster. :) Hope to share the blast of things I am planning to do this summer =D Will be attending DragonCon in the fall this year!

Hi there! I frequent this and a couple of other sites, have made a few Halo builds and am currently working on a Lu Bu Dynasty Warriors 8 build, a Spiderman suit, a Link (red suit with accessories and mirror shield) build and a (video game) deadpool build (with hammer, sais, guns etc.). Cannot wait to start posting and such on here!

Hey everyone,

I just found this forum a couple of days ago while I was looking for photos of the X-Files "Stiletto."

When I was in high school I used to build a lot of model airplanes and trucks. My cousin and I would always take things apart and build up wacky machines/mech/ships/whatever. I never really thought of taking it any further. Now that I'm married and have a boring desk job I've been looking for a hobby outside of the things I tend to fill my time with right now: video games, TV, and movies.

I wanted something that could re-develop my tinkering side and be fun at the same time. Model building was the first thing that came to mind, and after doing some research the idea of making and developing my own creations popped up. Delusions of grandeur for me right now, but I've started messing around with sculpting clay and will be making my way to the model shop with a good friend of mine (who is a model builder) to pick some stuff up.

All of that led me to, of course, the Stiletto. I'd like to, after I get some more experience, maybe make one that I can cast in plastic. We'll see!

Either way, I've been browsing this site looking at the different things that you all make and it all seems pretty amazing. I look forward to learning a lot from you all.

New here and finding this place quite helpful. I've always been the type that likes to make my own costume. So far it has been small with Dexter and Billy Mays. Not much building in there. This time I'm going big and I think I can give it a shot building it. I'm doing a variation of Thor never seen. I shall post progress and updates of what it is once I get started. Anyone that knows how to work with foam or build the thor movie costumefeel free to give me a shout.
