Heya, 'been a longtime lurker over here and really love seeing the progress of a project coming together. Haven't toyed around with any model-making stuff since I was a kid, but I get very nostalgic about it when reading people's threads.

Also, I'm originally from Finland - just slacking off in Sweden at the moment.

Hello everyone. I'm Mike, new to the RPF. I was turned on to this site by my cousin who works for Universal Studios. He said this place was a great resource. I'm just a guy who always liked costume parties and took Halloween way too seriously and wanted excuses to make/wear costumes. I recently have been attending local conventions and am excited to start making more props and costumes. I thought it sounded like a fun job to design and build things like this and am interested in talking to one of you who may do this or have done this to see what your experience with it was. I am currently a cubicle rat/desk jockey and am looking for creative outlets do i don't go office space we they take my stapler away. I'm ito most sci-fi stuff.Grew up on star wars and reading comics of X-men, Iron man and the Punisher. Am proficient with fire arms and martial arts and decent at sculpting. Have been involved with multiple art mediums sice classes were available in middle school. I'm hoping many of them will help with detail work in my future projects. I'm brand new to foam building and pepakura but it looks like you this forum has quite the wealth of experienced/talented people. I dabble in warhammer 40,000 and have a huge laundry list of things i would like to build from many universes/genres/games. Thanks for welcoming me to the community. I hope I will soon be able to offer so experience and expertise and contribute to this resource.

-Mike

I've been lurking here for several months now, and it's time I crept out of the woodwork. I'm basically a model railroader, but with a wide range of interests. I've often thought I need to buy an old schoolhouse so I can dedicate one room for each of my hobbies! I'm a fan of The Doctor, working on a #7 costume. I've also put together a Sketchup plan for a Big Blue Box to be posted here in a bit.

Hello all.

I'm DeMauve, I just figured i'd do the new guy thing and say hello. I was doing a google search for the Looper Blunderbuss, stumbled onto a thread on this site, and viola. I'm in to woodworking and other varied hobbies, and I like seeing things of all kinds made. I would eventually like to take up making things for myself, as well as having some interest in purchasing prop replicas in general. Anyhow, hello again, and i'll be lurking around for the time being. :)

Hi! I've been following the RPF for many months now, but only just got around to making an account on here. I hope I'll be able to contribute to this place soon!

HI all, I'm Matt!

So I've not been lurking around here for long but I'm already a bit obsessed with everything in these forums! I only found them through tested.com podcasts. Being a student and not having a job at the moment has given me plenty of free time so I thought I'd join and get involved and I love making things. Anyway I'll keep it short but I look forward to chatting to everyone here :) thanks!

Hi there, I'm Chris from Southern California. I joined the forum back in '11 and figured it was high time to introduce myself rather than lurking about. :D

I dabble in a little bit of everything from replicas of video game props to replica movie props.

Here's my latest venture, an 8 month build of a New Series 2005 Dalek.

Hi Everyone,

I am really interested in beginning prop making, after being inspired by Adam Savage and the guys on tested.com. I'm a definite late-comer, I gave up the art pathway by taking up science instead, but now feel the need to make and create. Thanks for a great site!

Matt

Hi everyone im tim and new to the forum I hope to learn a lot while Im here

Suppose since I'll be asking for help on the forums, I might as well be polite enough to introduce myself. I'm Justin, a novice propsmith from Texas. I have a tendency to tackle projects WAY above my skill grade, and have an overly-developed need for items to be made to a high degree of quality. I have a little experience with pep, a little with resin/bondo, and little else.

Hey everyone :) I'm Barry, I'm sixteen and a huge fan of really any objects that tell a story. I learned about this site about a year ago when I was looking through Tested's youtube page to look for prop ideas. I don't have any experience with any basic tools so my projects are never really screen accurate but they're good enough for me.

My main fandom, as you can probably guess from my username, is Harry Potter. I have quite a collection (at least for someone who's never had a job to pay for his projects ;)). I'm also a huge fan of Marvel Superheroes and am currently working on a cardboard and duct tape Mjolnir. I am drawn to just about any prop from just about any movies or television I watch.

Hello RPF. My name is Mike. I'm an art director / motion graphics designer in San Francisco. I have been a Sci-Fi film fan for as long as I can remember. I came across this site with my renewed interest in all things Blade Runner. I'm looking forward to meeting new folks and the potential to collaborate on future projects.

Hi

I have been a huge collector all my life. From comic books, action figures and DVDs. Now its Batman and Motorcycles, to my wife's despair. But She is a good sport and puts up with me and my collectables. She has as long as I know when to draw the line She is okay with it. :)

Hello
My name is Adam. I recently stumbled on this site while looking into making a captain america suit. I found my self to be completely captivated in the site and all the information and wisdom its members share. I have never cosplayed or even thought about doing it until now. I look forward to talking with you all on your ideas and mine. I will hopefully be adding my own thread to this site with my captain america build.
