re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hey all,

Been into superhero and sci-fi costuming for around 10 years now. Looking forward to seeing new things and and learning from you all. Thanks!

re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Greetings everyone,

I was recommended by a fellow-RPFer, Mr.Engineer to enroll. I have recently started to collect serious props. Expanding my collection is definitely what I want and I do believe this is the best place to be in.

I love Trek, all of them. My favorite would be TNG and Voyager. ENT comes close. I relish the thought of building an armory of phasers and tricorders.

I am new here, so take it easy on me :)

Hi all,

my name's Paul and I'm a newbie from Melbourne, Australia. Great to be here. I'm a fan of Masters of the Universe, Batman and The Crow.

I think you are all amazing and I'm in awe of all your work!

Thanks.

Hi, I'm Rob, and I'm addicted to maquette-quality movie toys and props. Been in the film effects industry for about 15 years, so I'm big into any kind of movie props. I love making things, so I'm looking forward to getting in even more trouble with my wife... I think visiting Stan Winston Studios a few years back put a fire under my butt...Plans for a full scale animated Terminator endoskeleton to add to the halloween animatronics (and my office for the rest of the year) but at the moment I'm looking at a Han in Carbonite project. :)

I'm a longtime lurker. My principle interests are textile arts and costuming, but I do some metalsmithing as well.

re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

I've been lurking here for a while - what a wealth of talent and ideas!

Being bit of a perfectionist (and have barely no space)... and a newbie ... I'm holding off on anything right now, but when I do hit the button, I know it'll be a good result. ;)

Hi Ya'll!!!

Well I jumped the gun and was off looking for SST stuff, but I jsut got my Starship Trooeprs complete B set, and its great! Of course now the quest for a morita starts!

Other Items in my bag of tricks:

Complete 11th century Templar, including real chain maille.
A dread Pirate Robers getup
I had a complete USCM set up with a custom made pulse rifle, but a divorce parted me with that.

I do some sewing and am learning more all the time and currently work on learning to sew pirate coats and vests. but will try about anything including the interior for my 72 Nova.

Other than that jsut looking to learn from folks!

It's great to finally be here!

I've been reading the forums since my first prop build - an ANH Vader lightsaber and an ESB Luke lightsaber. There was no turning back after that.

Next I cobbled together some 16mm film cans and reels and created LOST / Dharma "Orientation" film props. I also have the same 16mm projector as used on screen. All simply custom labeled.

Most recently, I put together a full "Man with No Name" costume, which required very little custom work on my part, apart from adding resin parts to an 1851 Colt Navy pistol. Fairly expensive project, but the result is very satisfying.

Always on the look out for that "next project". "Neverending Story" book, Indy, BTTF, and Star Wars props are my top interests at the moment. I plan to slowly fill my home theater with memorabilia.

Looking forward to participating...

-Corey

Hello, my name is Ken. I work in the television industry under the Warner Bros. umbrella. I started working with molds and casting over ten years ago. At that time, it was on a very small scale. Mostly re-working heads for the 3.75 GI Joes, as well as creating small latex masks for the characters to use as disguise. I've been out of the scene for a while now. After lurking around here, I feel the desire to get back into the game. What I've seen is nothing short of an astonishing amount of talent and patience. It's an honor and a privilege to be here.

Hi all, just recently registered. I was pointed this direction from another source, site looks pretty cool. My name is Anthony, and I am from Oklahoma. I am currently about to start a Han Solo in carbonite. If anyone has any suggestions please feel free to help. Until then I am researching and getting a parts list in order. Thanks.

Hi, Nice to meet y'all!

I was so excited when I saw that membership was open! I've been lurking and reading here for quite a while... and it's great to know that if I have a question I can now talk to you guys!

I'm an extreme newbie to attempting to make replicas, usually I can say my designs are inspired by, rather than a direct copy of. I'm really impressed by the amount of detail you guys go for! Wow! I can only aspire to be that awesome.

My newest build (which is in the design-phase... which I really should have started earlier) is going to be an 'inspired' Alice in Wonderland Battle armor, and Jabberwock head (that will be modded out of a bag/backpack, so I can actually have some personal storage while I traverse the NYC Halloween parade.) I'm hoping this build tests my skills as an artist, and helps me to work efficiently... Thanks to my job schedule, I'll actually have 9 straight days to work on this, uninterrupted, so here's hoping for the best.

My art based skill-sets include- Sewing, Sculpting, Painting and Cooking. (hey, cooking is where my degree is :) )

I'm also a recreational ukulele player :)

Thank you all again! I hope to have a load of fun here, and to learn a whole heck of a lot.:thumbsup

re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Heya everyone.

I've lurked on the forums off and on for a while now, but with a couple of armor projects in the works that may need casting and will definitely need scratch building, I decided to hop on and get a bit more active to broaden my costuming skills. To date, I've built a Sandtrooper, Animated Clone, X-Wing pilot, and an ODST from kits so I've learned a little bit.. but kit building is a whole different animal than scratch building.

re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hi there, I'm Eric. I'm an engineer & geek - no film credits or anything like that.

Recently I built a prop chainsaw arm, boomstick harness and Necronomicon for my Ash Halloween costume. In the past I've mainly stuck to practical makekup FX but I had so much fun making the props that I want to try a few things.

Currently I'm trying my hand at a functional reproduction of the Mystic Seer from the Twilight Zone episode Nick of Time.
