re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hey Everyone, My name is Alex Buechel, and im an Official Star Wars artist and honorary member of the 501st Legion. I have just recently started getting interested in costumes and props and have come across these boards by suggestion of a friend who said that this was the place to go for all costuming questions and help. I have a TK in the works but want something that unfortunately have help with

I currently don't have any costumes finished and would like to start of with a bang. My dream costume is Ezio Auditore from assassins creed II accurate replica down to the silk screening. I have found many horrible versions for sell on ebay and such including a decent copy on museum replicas. But im here to find the help and get a real version going.

Howdy. I have enjoyed looking at the massive amounts of pictures on here in the past but couldn't handle the math problems the search box would ask me so I decided to join.

I love the Rocketeer, Back to the Future, Jurassic Park and Star Wars- thus all props from these movies. For food I create mediocre graphic design.

Hello!

I'm ocd,

I thought I was the only one who would do this stuff and not get paid for it. But apparently not. And thats a GOOD thing! Sweet site! Reference galore!

A little history;
I ran across this site looking for info on buying an MG34 repro. And then decided to make one.

Some background;

I'm a comercial artist (Graphic designer/Illustrator/Art Director) by trade.
Currently I do NOT have a "day Job " due to obamanomics but that another story altogether. So I have some experience at making "fake stuff" otherwise known as "props".

Enough about me,...
So hello every body.

ps I'll try and post some pics of the MG34 soon- let me know what you think.
Just an fyi - One of my mottos has been "That sucks do it over" and " we don't have time to do it right, but we have PLENTY of time to do it over"

So with that in mind when I post any thing for per revue, Critique any one?

Later,

ocd

Hi guys, been posting a bit already but not here!
I'm from Leeds, uk. 28 and work in sales.
Been a scifi fan for years, and recently got interested in costumes. Last year for Halloween I bought a Darth Vader costume and user a force rx lightsabre I've had for years, this year I've done Dr Horrible in red, the lab coat made to measure by a guy on eBay, goggles as close as I could find and painted myself, with a prop gun made from a watergun and casino card shuffler, strapped to my arm and with a button on the glove to make it fire business cards :p
Next plan is a foam Iron Man build, camping mat already ordered.

Hello, my name is Strat, I just started making props more often and for other people rather than just for myself for cons. This site has come up many times as a great community for asking questions and learning techniques from others. I look forward to talking with many of you soon.

Hi gang, been lurking for too long, and it's finally time to post. I'm a web developer by day, I love sci-fi and horror, and sometimes actually find the time to build things.
You can find a handful of my projects over at Instructables Member: flaming_pele!. I've done a few other things I have yet to post anywhere, like Ash's chainsaw and an M56 from Aliens.

I'm totally amazed at the great work and helpful info on these boards. Looking forward to contributing!

re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hello all,
I've been lurking around here for quite some time now and never got around to making posts. I enjoy costuming and currently have a Stormtrooper, Jango Fett, Comedian, and Salem from Army of TWO costume. Currently I am working on an Iron Man but I don't have too much progress so when I get more done I will post of some pics.

re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hi all,
I'm a newbie here. I learned about the site from Club Obi-wan's & The Raven's prop forums. I am a life long Indiana Jones and Star Wars fan, and recently got into Indiana Jones Props. As a kid I always wanted to get into the SFX biz, but never did, then once I got into collecting props I decided I could live vicariously through possibly making some of my own. (Plus I'm creative and need a good stress reliever).

I'm currently reworkign a black Sankara stone I purchased and I'm working on a Raiders of the Lost Ark Dutch Bible page. I have sketched up the 2 Raiders Chachapoyan Temple relics that Indy gives to MArcus is Raiders the ones that are "worth a ticket to Marrakesh". that I want ot try my hand at sculpting. Basically, I'm here to learn the ropes!

Any hints, ideas, resorces for a material that look like stone I could use or cast, and any resources on how to age paper (and what paper to use, etc. for an aged effect, message me.
I appreciate it!

-Dan

re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Howdy folks!

I found this site while looking for "The Saint" movie props. I'm a huge fan of all props and replicas. I'm a newbie when it comes to using resin as all my own props which I've made over the years have been metal, plastic and wood. So I'm eventually hoping to get some tips there.

I've recently made some TNG/Voy combadges out of resin and I'll post pics of them.

Anyways, glad to be here!
