Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hello, good morning! Nice to meet you!

I've been creeping around for a few months now, watching over a few interesting threads but never really had any reason to start posting.
Then I was doodling and found myself stumbling upon a cool Doctor Who cosplay that I want to create!

So I guess I'm here to bask in your wisdom and begin my journey!

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hi everyone. I just joined to learn how to do some projects that have been bouncing around in my head. I'm mainly a Star Trek guy, but there seem to be a lot of options on this site. I think my biggest hurdle will be finding supplies as I am currently stationed in S. Korea as part of US Forces Korea. I look forward to being around and learning from the knowledge already on here.

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hey Everyone, greetings from south america! I'm new here and joined because I just started to go to cosplay/comics events and wanted to see if I can manage to make my own (been taking pictures all these time) and after reading and browsing your forums/projects I feel really motivated to start one!.. I will need a little bit of help though, with pep and stuff (like how to pass a model from 3DS Max to Per Designer and else..). Well I hope to learn a lot from you guys, please take care of me LOL.

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hello everyone, I just joined this site and from the looks of it, will probably be spending a lot of time on here. I've already seen loads of cool props I haven't seen before. I am from New York, and am a big film buff. I am always on the lookout for new props, and have even taken up the art of making some of my own. I look forward to meeting people on here and especially seeing what everyone else has in their colelction.

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hi everybody. I'm Tony, I'm from the Seattle, WA area. I started out as mainly a SFX guy, doing makeup, making facial appliances, some dental appliances, etc. But in the last 3 or 4 years I've started getting more into costuming and propmaking, since my standards for Halloween costume quality seem to go up every year. The only downside is that I pretty much only have conventional household tools to work with, since I am on a stupidly tight budget.

I'm a big geek, as overused as that term has become lately. But I'm a big horror buff (particularly zombies), love my superheroes, Star Trek, and Doctor Who.

The things I have made to date are:
Jason Voorhees costume (Freddy vs. Jason version)
Jason Voorhees machete prop (real steel blade)
10th Doctor Who (David Tennant) costume

I don't remember how I initially found this place a few years ago, but I rediscovered it when I was researching my two Halloween ideas for this year; Evil Dead Ash, and Mortal Kombat Sub Zero.

I love this place. It frustrates me seeing all this awesome stuff that I'd love to make, but don't have the time, money, space, or equipment to do it, but I love it all the same. I look forward to learning from you all, especially the latex/urethane slingers.

Thanks!

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hello!

I am a fan of TheRPF and I have been debating joining for a while. I do some 3D modeling as my actual physical modeling skills suck rather badly. I am about to buy a 3D printer and I am looking forward to finally actualizing some models I have been working with. I am a fan of FPS, RPG, Anime, and Science Fiction movies. I do weight lifting and rock climbing in my off time, and I work as an applications developer specializing in Python for now.

Hello everyone,

The names ArkBuilder, I have been researching alot about armor making withing the past few months and this is one of the best sites i've seen for noobie help and community involvement :) An expertise i've been working on homing in on is making 3D models in Blender. If i can help anyone in some way and have the time to do so, i will gladly like to help. At the moment im saving money to get materials to start either an Iron Man suit or a Jedi/Sith Acolyte build for my first project. Any tips or recommendation on material, files to use and such would be greatly appreciated :)

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hi everybody!

I'm trying to get more into cosplay and prop making. I've done a little bit but I'm looking to learn some new skills.

I'm especially interested in learning to do more with foam.

This site looks pretty awesome so hopefully I'll get pointed in a good direction.

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hello. this seems like an very interesting place. Nice props and great skills. I am here to hopefully get a few new ideas and also learn new things.

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hello All!! I am very excited to be here. I am quite new to the costume/prop building arena but I am really looking forward to creating some great things (I hope) and am VERY thankful for the collected knowledge of all of you!. I am fairly well versed in 3D modeling and sculpting and hope that any of my knowledge there could be helpful to someone.

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hey folks! My name is William and I kind of got into this by accident! I was looking online for info about fiberglass repair to fix a hole in my boat and came across Stealth's Hero Tutorials on YouTube and fell in love (no, not with Stealth!). After watching all of his vids, I jumped right into building an Ironman Mk 3 and thus the fire was lit! I hope to learn a lot and build a lot! Thanks!

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hi All,

I was introduced to the RPF a little while ago thanks to Adam Savage's plug-in's on Tested.com.
The BIG thing that caught my attention about this place was one of the threads regarding stuff from Metal Gear Solid! (big fan)

Currently, I'm a performing magician and illusion consultant. I have experience in theater as an actor, director, stage tech, and prop/wardrobe master.
Costumes and props always fascinates me thus bringing me here.

Thanks for letting me become a part of this great community :)

Magical Smiles,
MagiChris

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Greetings everybody! I'm Argent.
Ever since I was a kid, I've always loved making, disassembling and inventing things. By the time I was five, I had already begun making some of my own toys using clay, ceramic and plastic. Needless to say, I also had a rather sizable Lego collection. This longing to create never left me. In the past few years, I've gone through many passions, from marble machines to metal working, lock smithing or robotics. Recently, I've taken an interest into prop making, and quickly found myself finding this forum on several occasions when looking through the web for details regarding certain objects. It seems like a wonderful, very interesting place, full of great people and ideas, so I decided to join. I look forward to getting to know you all in the future!
I do not currently have any noteworthy pieces to present as of yet, but am currently working on several projects, which hopefully should be ready by the end of this summer.
