Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hey! I'm also new here. I've been following this forum for a long time, but only decided to register this month. I'm a dutchman who's interested in cosplay. I've done a cosplay of Ezio Auditore Da Firenze last year, which the costume was bought through the internet. I'm now planning on doing a Amazing Spider Man cosplay, although i'm very tall.

I hope to post some pictures in a few months.

Simon

Hi all. My name is John, I'm new, both to the site and to prop collecting. I "inherited" a couple Replica props when my roommate moved out and it kinda sparked an interest, although at this time I only have about 10 or so prop replicas. I mostly have smaller pieces, and not all of them are "True" props (like my Flynn's Arcade tokens from Disney and my Star Wars Imperial Credit coins). I'm hoping to build my collection tho. There seems to be some amazing information here in this community... I'm looking forward to building my collection!

Hyas!!

I've found this forum while searching a way to make masks. I was inspired by the detailed masks of Hollywood Undead. They are so detailed!
I was also pushed forward by Rob Zombie's onstage costumes and masks. I'm trying to learn how to make detailed masks and costumes out of various materials, if anyone can recommend a starting point i'd be grateful.

Hey dudes! And dudettes?

Matt here, been lurking around this forum ever since I saw STEALTHs iron man suit on YouTube. I have one mark 6 iron man done in foam and a few pep helmets that aren't finished.

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hi i'm Markus, Call me Mark

I am a major deadpool fan, which is what led me to this site. All my old costumes, which were full body spandex, broke. I need a new one. The post is in the replica movie costumes section, which i hope is the correct place. Anyway, this site looks pretty nice, so i hope my stay will last.

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hi there! My name is Jenn Croft and I am best known for my Lara Croft cosplay pictures floating around the net. I have recently got into prop building and making silicone molds to cast things out of resin and am looking to learn more here as well as show off a bit of my progress! I look forward to meeting you all. :angel

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hi! I've been browsing these forums for years looking for ideas, tips and just all of the cool stuff that's posted here in general. Like Jenn, the poster above me, I've recently being learning how to do molding and casting and we've been working on some stuff together. I've been cosplaying for years and love the way that this hobby allows me to take so many different skills and put them all together into one costume.

Outside of costuming, I'm a big sci-fi and video games nerd. I run a Legend of Zelda fan site, I love to write, and I'm also into sports and fitness.

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hey everyone, I'm Marco, I've been making Iron Man armors since 2010, but at this year is when they're getting acuarete, I'm moulding and casting every piece, I'm making My Little Pony outfits too, like the armor Fluttershy use in the Crystal Empire or the spy suit in the Magic Duel. So keep posted for more.

Hi,

I'm here thanks to Adam Savage ^^'
He talked about this community in one of his youtube videos, so I figured I'll go check!
Anyway, you can call me Abidou, I'm Moroccan and I'm a fan of criminal TV shows, mystery movies and stealth video games. NCIS, The Davinci Code and Metal Gear Solid to be precise!

Have a nice day you all!

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Greetings everyone!
I'm an Italian inventor and I love to build things.
I recently discovered the world of prop making and I would like to share my knowledge with you all.
I would like to start a new project with some of you and I wish someone would throw me a challenge.
Tell me what you would like me to build and I will try to create something unique (please do not be too hard, it's my first project).
Clearly I do not want to be presumptuous because even I have my limits, but everything has a solution.
I'm pretty good with wood and graphics (paper props) but I also like other forms of making.
Please feel free to make suggestions and tell me what prop you would like to have.
Thanks in advance,
If you can dream it I can do it!
Bosstik

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hello All,
I'm new to this forum but have been sculpting and modeling for years now - started building some budget props for a local drama group as they are all volunteer based and have no money for stuff - they knew I worked for a firm making scenery a few years ago and the costume designer works with my wife so I stepped in to help out.
It got me interested in props again and I decided to clear out my old workshop and start working on some full sized / large scale kit after years of working in miniature.

Been a lifelong sci-fi fan and a 1st generation gamer (Midway's arcade Boot Hill 1978) so the Fallout canon really got it's hooks in me - I fancy one of the plasma/laser rifles to display and found rpf whilst searching for reference photos for the build. I like the tri-barrel laser rifle from New Vegas but love the way the chambers light up green on the plasma weaps so it may be hard to choose which one to start first.

I've been in love with WW2 tanks since Shep Paine and Monogram models and started PC game modding about 6 years ago (RTS tank games). That's about it - I will post on the build ups once I get started - there's a head prop I did in the sculpture section already.
Regards,
Merch

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hi all.
I Stumbled upon this forum when looking for a Dredd '12 helmet a few weeks back. I live in Leeds UK, and have now decided to put together my own Dredd uniform. I have absolutely no experience whatsoever with any part of costume making, but it does look like fun. So why not :p
I've turned my eyes square the last couple of days/nights looking through threads on here and I must say there is a lot of serious talent here and, more importantly a cool friendly vibe.
Look forward to getting more involved and maybe showing off my interpretation of a Judges uniform.

Cheers. BigD

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

I just realized I never introduced myself. Oops...

Hi, my name is Maggie and I'm a maker. I make robots, electronics, props and sometimes comics and digital art. I'm also a technologist and podcast on two shows: Ruining It For Everyone and Sci-Fi Idols. I'm a member and resident of the Artisan's Asylum in Somerville, MA which is one of the largest makerspaces in America - if you live in the area, do come by and check it out!

By day I'm a senior sysadmin for the physics department of a large university somewhere in Cambridge, MA. But at my core I'm a maker. And I'm happy to be here at the RPF which I ran across several years ago when I was making a Star Trek phaser and found someone making machined parts here. I finally had a chance to join and here I am.

Hi. :)

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hi,i came across the RPF site whilst trawling the net for info relating to gun related props. My son and his friends are wanting to produce an internet based series set in a post apocolyptic world, and as such they require certain props i.e guns, swords etc, which I'm more than happy to help create/procure.
My problem is that i don't know enough about the law concerning this, would anybody have information that would lead me to a better understanding of what I can only presume is a minefield of legal wrangling.Any help would be most appreciated thank you :wacko

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hi, I found this site by watching Still Untitled: The Adam Savage Project. I just recently started wanting to get into making props for myself. Mostly gaming props to decorate my geeky room with... :p

So far, I LOVE THIS SITE! I don't have the money to buy anything I want, (like the crystal rupees... holy crap!), but I've gotten, literally, a dozen new ideas of things to try... It's awesome!

I was reading elsewhere on the net, and saw in one of Adam's vids, that I should start with paper crafts and/or cardboard. Therefore, I'm trying to age my Skyrim map. This will be my first project ever. I'll try to post a pic when it's done.... maybe... if it's not completely embarrassing...

Looking forward to getting into this community. Later :-D
