Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Introducing myself, name is Tyler. Found this place looking for Bane project instructions and ideas. Ended up abandoning that project and am currently working on Firefly stuff and a Mandalorian from Star Wars.

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hi all, I'm from the UK, I stumbled upon this forum googling for a Dredd costume after seeing the very well done Urban movie recently, I was not disappointed there are some fantastic costumes here & I am very inspired by them all. I have been into movies for years but have really only started my collection, I have some screen used Serenity money & a replica HAL9000, so, very small but we all have to start somewhere. I did have a screen accurate Ledger Joker costume but after having a newborn I needed the space for baby stuff so it had to go unfortunately. My aim now is to learn from here and hopefully one day I will be able to contribute.

After PM'ing a few member's already for a few pieces I am looking forward to getting to know everyone.

Regards

Hey there everyone!

I've been in the pepakura-ing game for sometime now but I've only recently joined The RPF, figured it might be time to be more social with people that have the same love for pep as me. So here I am. I've started a project which will last me till the Avengers 2 because, you guessed it, I'll be cosplaying for the Avengers 2. I'll be starting a thread for that and, hopefully, be uploading pictures of my friends' cosplay progress as well

Cheers everyone!

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hi guys das 1 here am sort of new to the world of computers but am a bit long in the tooth so if I get things slightly wrong please forgive me. As to myself I have dabbled in replica props for years making the odd aliens helmet logans run blaster and sutch using old bits of scrap milliput and tubeing and mainly guesswork and screen caps but no actual plans or blue prints , as I said I dont know how to use a comp and realy just joined for some help and ideas as some of my friends in the military reenactment did give me help when I converted an M1 helmet to airborne specs as seen in a very old edition of the Armourer magazine so I may not be putting mutch up unless I can get a camera and someone shows me what to do ( probably my next door nieghbors kids, both very smart)but will try to get things going, yours hopefully das 1

Howdy,

My name is Darin and I am a theatrically trained prop master working full-time in Nebraska. I love props and the fabrication process. Coming from the theater, a lot of the work that I get to do isn't as detailed oriented since most of the time it is thirty feet away from the audience. Because of this I absolutely LOVE it when I get to work on highly detailed or intricate pieces. More often than not, it's side projects for myself or others when I have the free time. (Ha! Free time!) I hope to post more pictures when I have the time, but here's a couple of shots of a set of Tiny Bee Guns I'm working on. Enjoy! (Hope these pictures show up alright)

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hey there all.

Brand new here, and pretty new to the whole props scene.

I've been "dragged" here by fellow member Canobi - been helping him with the internal gubbins for an M41A he's making. That's kind of my scene - I'm in electronics design for a living (if you can call it that), but love making things that flash and make noise (and no, I don't mean high explosives ;) )

I think Canobi has a thread on here somewhere with the M41A bits I have been working on with him - there might even be some videos in there too.

So, if anyone has any electronics work for their prop they're stuck on, give us a shout and I may well be able to help you out.

Ghandalf Cambria Scarecrow Sculpture Project #01

HI THERE!!
I am a Film and Event production crew member living in Los Angeles who has been an Art Director, Animator, Storyboard Artist, Photographer ,Set Dresser and Educator working in the Business since 1993. I love experimenting with home made Artwork costumes and props. My Mom bought a house in Cambria, California and the town goes crazy every Halloween and many businesses and locals create hundreds of scarecrows out of various materials..Once I saw all of them I had to create a superior one myself(with other family members assisting me as well) utilizing my prior prop making expertise..The first one I want to try is Ghandalf The Grey Wizard from The Lord Of The Rings. Please see my gallery for progress over the next year and I hope its ready to pitch to a local business(it is gonna be too baddass to leave out on the street) by September, 2013. I love all the great talent on here and love chatting with others sharing techniques gimme a message anytime thanks everybody!

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Citizens of RPF Block,

I'm Judge Burdis and keeper of the Cellar of Dredd and obviously a big 2000 AD fan. I'm not a maker of anything, as I haven't got the skills or time and so I buy all my Dredd stuff.

I managed to purchase the first Judge uniform from Planet Replicas, you may have seen me sorting perps out at conventions but I am always up for something new to add to my collection, hence the reason I am here!

That's about it citizens, I shall now search the site for merchandise!

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hi all, I'm Greenleaf.

I found this site when I was looking to make a friend his own copy of the Hogwarts acceptance letter from Harry Potter, after hearing about it from the great Adam Savage of course.

I'm sure I'll be mostly an admirer here, but might contribute the occasional paper prop or ask the occasional bit of advice.

What a fantastic resource and community there is on this site!

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hello,

Years ago I did work in the film industry as an armorer. My credits include Troy and King Arthur. I have been out of the game for a few years, but last year currently got back into making stuff. I am currently at the moment working on a few BTTF pieces for my own enjoyment

Hello everyone!

Just to say hi, I'm Kevin from the UK and I'm also TK13047 in the 501st UK Garrison. Obviously got into costuming through Star Wars but have grown to love all kinds of aspects of it :)

Currently starting work on a ROTJ Royal Guard and generally just looking forward to being here and learning lots. Already blown away by some of the stuff I've seen.
