Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hi

I've been lurking for a few years now and finally realized that I should register when the opportunity came up.

I do a bit of costume work and modding/building and have always found my way back here to search for solutions when I came across a problem. So, I guess a delayed thanks is in order. Thank you!

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hello everyone

I've been lurking on this site for a while, basically reading recommendations for shops and details on where to buy what, such as "Where do I get Snake Plissken's Camo Trousers?" (Answer: Apparently, nowhere unless I shrink about four inches in height). It's amazing what you guys are doing here and the amount of dedication displayed by some members.

Me, I am just a guy who likes Snake Plissken and Leather Jackets. And thus far, the only things I can boast about replica-wise are a Wolverine movie-style jacket that has the X-Force colour scheme and a black Smallville jacket turned Mass Effect Renegade gear. I'll see if I can get pictures and I might as well do an indepth store-review of a bit of a controversial merhcant that I got the jackets from.

Either way, I'm glad to be part of this community now and I hope that I can help out wherever I can.

Hi!

I'm Kimberly and live in the US. I'm a crafter, a dabbler in cosplay and a bit of a geek. Love Star Trek, Star Wars, Harry Potter, Doctor Who to name a few things.

I am so bowled over by the work here on this forum. All of you are quite inspiring.

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hi. Been making map props from Lord of the Rings on and off for myself for 10 years. Wished I stumbled here sooner. Anyway. 35 yrs. old and love Tolkien's work. Actually I have begun the process of making a Red Book of Westmarch prop for myself and for my kids to have one day. I have a few illustrations done. I will stop with the Hobbit and leave some blank pages in there. If any of you have any tips for me, they are most certainly welcome. I will create a thread on it one of these days. In the meanwhile, feel free to pm me. Thanks. Happy New Years.

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

hello,
I just found this site, and I can't wait to try all the things that I've read here already. I've just started making props and you can see on my Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Project-Red-Wolf/185852854791727
It's the "Adam" Syringe from Bioshock, Just have to figure out the LED portion of it. But I was able to finish the Bioshock Big Daddy doll. I want to start making a Wall of Heroes thing, where it's all the things from the comic book heroes (Superman's cape, Thor's hammer, ect.)

Can't wait to try out some of the stuff on here.

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Greetings all,
My name is Eric and as I have seen quite a few of, I was a long time lurker and decided to show off some of the stuff I've made over the last couple of years. It all started with Halo helmets but I moved on to other props but being in college and working full time does not afford a lot off free time for props.
Over the last couple of years I have managed to make a few things I'm proud of that I will show in another thread but I'd like to say hello and that I think I'm official now:)

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

hello guys and girls my name is halocat. someone in my family owns a sign company and there were things I learned I can make from plexi glass in vinyl, along with some electronical skills I had picked up along the way- as I I am also a musician in there for a perfectionist!!! my daughters and I my eldest in particular, are quantum leap fanatics!! I have severe health issues and get treatment and that's how we started watching it she loved it so much that she had me make the hanslinksv starting with the ones at the very beginning of tmhe show. those are my favorite props however I'm going to venture out into others. there's a whole lot of talent on here, glad to be a part of it!!

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

HI all,

This past fall I discovered and have religiously been following all of the Tested.com stuff regarding Adam Savage and Making and his prop collection. Everyone at Tested seemed to speak highly of the RPF and thought I'd check it out since I'm not very savvy at making, but always wished to be. So I come here to start a new years resolution of sorts to make just something. I've decided to take a stab at making the monster book from Grimm. Not necessarily a replica but at least my own take on it to a general theme. I'm sure I'll hit a lot of bumps, but hey, who doesn't.

Hi everyone, I´ve been seen and gathering a lot of ideas for things that I would like to built. Next year I will hopefully be starting with the Mark VI built and probably the Amazing Spiderman suit.

Hello! I'm a long time lurker of this fantastic forum and I just recently gave in and decided to sign up.

I'm a costumer, and I hope to make an Iron Man build (wow, so original, right?), a Half Life 2 HEV suit and many more cool costumes to prance about in at comic conventions. :) It's great to be here and I can't wait to get started!

Evening Ladies and Gentlemen.
I came upon this forum by chance whilst searching for news on The Hobbit weapons replicas, particularly Orcrist and it's scabbard.

My obsession began with the release of the first LOTR's film and a hasty purchase of Narsil in early 2002.

I now own the following pieces, all from United Cutlery.

Narsil.
Narsil scabbard.
Glamdring.
Glamdring scabbard.
Sting.
Sting scabbard.
White Knives of Legolas.
(Still trying for the scabbards if anyone could help me out?)
Orcrist on preorder.

I have no idea when and if I'll stop, I simply love them.
