re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hey guys, my name is Justin. I found this forum about a year ago but just now registered. I do have a lot of knowledge on mold making and using resin and bondo. I have been a body man for 13yrs now so if there is one thing I am good at its bondo! New to pepakura and very interested in it. I have two boys and they would love to have some sort of replica costume. I may not say much since there are so many others that have much more knowledge then I do. Thanks for such a great forum and thanks in advance for all of the ideas I will get from here. :)

Hey all, Michael from Kentucky here. Been lurking for a while and thought I'd finally join. Don't have a lot of talent for props myself but I love seeing other people's work. Very inspiring. Maybe I'll give a project or two a shot.

Hi, I am a collectible toy product development designer, and love all movie prop and collectible figure. I came from Hong Kong.
I started making Ironman suit for myself now.

re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hey every one.

I'm in Leeds in the UK and stumbled on the site through the hero tutorials on youtube the other day. I was blown away by all amazing props and armour that you guys are creating! Folded bits of paper = armour suits....who knew, huh?!!

Up to now, my only 'creative' hobby has been making and painting 40k kits and models. Am just starting to get the bits and pieces together to make a foam Iron Man suit, and am really looking forward to learning as I go, (hopefully) gaining some new skills, and meeting some new people.

Adam :)

That's about it really.

re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hello,
I'm new to prop making and thought this would be a good place to share ideas and get advice (not to mention it seems that everyone that I've purchased parts or model kits from is a member here also).
I've already seen some amazing work from members here and look forward to posting some of my own works in the future.

Well, that's welcoming.

Found my way here researching Captain America costumes and there is excellent work here and may be diverted to some Iron Man.
I don't sew or work leather... all my experience has been modeling and some metal casting so this will be quite a learning curve.
Hope to have something to show next week.
That, I am closer to Dick Purcell than Chris Evans so some fitness is involved.

Hi all,

I'm originally from Australia but now living in Japan, I stumbled across this forum through a link in regard to Skruffy's pipboy 3000 replica and have found lots of awsome stuff on here by many talented people.
I have done a bit of hacking/making you know with arduino etc, but have never played or tried to make props/replicas.
But I hope to get lots of insperation and tips from from the users.

as they say in Japan

Hi Everyone,

Checking in. I'm new to rpf, but not new to costuming. I'm active in the 501st New England Garrison (TK-5274) and have an X-Wing costume nearly done for the Rebel Legion. I need a break from Star Wars, so here I am.

Take care, Bill H. (Waltham, MA)

Re: **** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here!

Greetings All!

My name is Michael, and although I have never actually built anything worth mentioning, it has always been a dream of mine to, well, replicate some of the great things from movies and games that you cannot buy, or would not want to buy, just for the simple joy of knowing that you made something so awesome with your own hands.

Ive always wanted to start, but I never actually put my foot in the door. So consider this my foot in the door! I understand starting small, simple, and learning is probably essential, but im not sure where I am going to start. I am only sure of where I am going. My two goals, an HEV suit and an ODST suit. I know, I can already hear you. Time, cost, motivation, skill. Ive got all of that. Im a 27 year old average kind of guy, born in New Mexico, I currently live in Germany, and for the first time in my life I actually have a large work area that I can dedicate completly to this new hobby *crosses fingers*.

Any help you guys can give, advice, constructive criticizm, mind you I said constructive, is appreciated. I have pretty thick skin and Im not afraid to hash things out. Oh by the way, this isnt me asking for help yet, Im probably going to browse the threads and see where I am going to start. I did notice some talking about pepakura, looked it up, didnt find much, is there something that someone can tell me about this? Id greatly appreciate it.

You guys do such great work, im definately a fan, and I look forward to seeing everything you create, and learning in the process!

Michael

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

I can't recall if I posted here already so here goes.

I'm from Toronto, Ontario. I quit my job in October 2011 and picked up a casual part time job so that I could spend my time building. I'm a fan of Ghost in the Shell, Firefly, Blade Runner, Alien, and Fallout, to name a few.

I have done a few film props and set-dec jobs since but feel I'm in an accelerated learning stage where I spend most of my week in my shop working, as well as working my part time job. I'm involved with Live Action Roleplaying, enjoy going to the gym, programming, long walks in the rain, and of course.. building.

Current projects: Couple of simple books, vacuform pipboy blank, pewter casting medallations, and internally framed flexible urethaned stop motion puppets.

I like PMs, and oneday, ONE DAY, I will have an Etsy site where I can hock my wares.

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hi guys!

I've been sweeping through that forum for some time and finally I decided to register. This site helped me to find proper elements for the Nostromo crew costumes. The amount of useful data being posted by users here is amazing!

I am currently working on Kane's outfit (Alien) and Elizabeth Shaw's suit (Prometheus). I can't wait to post some useful data I collect and be as much helpful as I can.

Regards,
Deimoz

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hello All,

I have been around for a few months just poking through the forums and what not. I am big with the Ghostbusters props so far and I was looking to get into building a lightsaber. I did some searching but I don't really see plans or build threads just photos of complete ones. I don't necessarily want to build an exact movie replica but if anyone has any information in that regards please let me know.

Thank you,
Adam

Hello, everyone. My name's Nathan Cross, you can call me "Cross" or whatever.

I'm sort of new to the whole prop/costume world. I'm actually working on an Agent Phil Coulson outfit from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Tackling the most difficult project now: The big ol' gun from The Avengers.
