Re: *** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here!

Hey there everybody!
My name is Michael Koske, and I am thrilled that I can finally stop "lurking" on here. I'm an active member of the 501st, (Geprgia Garrison), and also a "Central Georgia Ghostbuster". I have quite a few friends who were already registered here, and they've told me about things here FOREVER, and now i can finally get involved too.
I'm quite interested in the Iron Man armor I've seen in some threads, and definitely want to do that sometime soon!

Re: *** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here!

Hi everyone. I've been trying to register for over a year now and finally got to register after missing the last couple by only a day or two. My heart skipped a beat when I looked at the clock and noticed that it was just after midnight. I thought that I had missed it this time by only a few minutes (c:

I'm not a prop maker per-se, but more of a "maker" in general. Most of my adult life I've been making custom parts for people; from modifying large format cameras to making powering systems for film and video productions in extreme conditions.

I only hope I can contribute, as much as I learn from these forums.

Re: *** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here!

Finally a member! Whoot!

Ha. Anyways, I'm so happy to finally have an account. I've been visiting the site for roughly a year and a half now. The desire to post has been driving me crazy. I first found out about RPF from a correspondence with Adam Savage. He gave me the link to your site following a question about props.

Sadly, my collection is... Light to say the least. A few, low quality replicas, some false IDs I've been able to make, one or two guns that I threw together.

However, seeing as I'm 14 and have no job, I consider anything a good place to start. I really do hope that I'll be able to help the community with their individual efforts, and I hope to be able to bolster my personal collection.

BTW, this is Michael from Connecticut

Re: *** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here!

Hi all, I,m Graham, Ive been waiting to join this forum for a bit and was overjoyed to get the chance today. I,m just getting into prop building and have a Hasbro E-11 conversion I,m about to start as well as a scratch built one too. I am a member of the Galactic Knights costumers club and have a ShadowTrooper costume made of 3mm ABS plastic, Ive been with then for a year now and have done a few troops. I am particularly interested in creating an E-11 with lights and sounds but want to do it as cheaply as possible but with better sound and light than the Hasbro. Ive looked at the Hyperdyne and the Blaster Core modules but feel they are alittle over priced for my likeing and i was wondering if anyone has either made their own or has a schematic for one.

Anyway looking forward to chatting with you all in the future.

Re: *** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here!

Greetings to everyone in RPF. I've visited in the past, but could not gain membership. I could have really used the interchanges back then.
I started making costumes and props to get into the Star Wars fan clubs, and always thought I would do just enough to join. But after a couple of years of numerous charitable events and the fan adoration, my wardrobe has continued to grow. My first was a Jedi outfit, but then I decided I wanted to join the Dark Side by building (tailoring) an Imperial Officer tunic. After teaching myself from books and fumbling around for 6 months I created this:
Officer-Char_Group.jpg

I later built a sidearm and holster (learning to leatherwork):

My last kit was a Rebel Fleet Trooper. I recently modded the bucket combox for lights. Lately I started making a rain cape from Admiral Pelleaon. I hope to follow that up with an Old Obi-wan outfit, and down the road another officer tunic in black and an Imperial Biker Scout.

I'm impressed by the skills displayed in these forums. I shall never have the resources or skills to do many of these things, but perhaps will get ideas that will help with my plans.

Thanks for having me! ;)

Hello everyone! My name is Andy. I'm 48 and live in Indiana. I was a Civil War reenactor for many years and portrayed Custer in North and South Book II. I collect WWII militaria and have been a 1966 Batman fan since well, er, umm, 1966!

I am currently working on a lifesize mannequin of the Joker portrayed by Jack Nicholson in the 1989 Batman.

I also built a Karloff Frankenstein for myself.

Looks to be a fun place.

Re: *** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here!

Well, I think I joined and got accepted a year ago and forgot about it! Anyway, I'm now onboard, ready to see what kind of help I can get. I'm an astromech builder (R2-AL) and a costumer, Star Wars mainly. I'm also into Stargate (I'm a member of SG-14 as their combat photographer) and pirates (I have many ren fair costumes made over a 30 year period). I'm constantly revising my jawa and have started my Imperial Officer uniform (THANK YOU, CHAR, for excellent tutorials!!!!). I'm currently working on a lightsaber, ion gun (for the jawa), and constantly on my little buddy, AL.

Wade Egan ~ Leather Crafter and Prop Replicator

Hello RPF,

My name is Wade Egan. Thanks for having me. I run a leather shop in Los Angeles and specialize in custom leather work. I have a good rep over on Club Obi Wan for my Indiana Jones line of gear and props. In addition to the Indy stuff, I make Han Solo holsters, Jedi belts, The Mummy holsters, Serenity rigs, Pirate baldrics, armor, and pretty much anything out of leather that we can get a good screen shot or photo of.

My website doesn't have the costume gear up on it as I'm making a completely different site for those things. But you can get a feel for what I do there.

Feel free to contact me if you have a project in mind or for a quote. I welcome custom projects and always have time to talk about gear.

Thanks again!

Wade Egan

Re: *** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here!

So where to start? Ehm, I am a big Star wars fan. I own a full size costume of Darth Vader. It was one of my oldest dream to own a Vader suit. In fact the more I looked at it, the more I was telling myself that I wanted to try myself at replicating movie stuff.

So after years of action figures customizing, I decided to take my hobbie full size. And I started to sculpt stuff full size. Wow that is a chalenge when you are used to sculpt for 3 3/4 action figures.

Now, what I want to do next. I want to replicate some GiJoe costumes because Star Wars costume have already been done. And most of all, I want to replicate General Kael armor. And it have to look autentic. So this is why I subscibe here. This is the only place I found some info on the costume itself. And I have been looking for quite a while.

So if anybody willing to give me some info, I would be very apreciated.

Re: *** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here!

Hey everybody!

I'm Koen from Belgium, 27 years old. I work as a copywriter for a big Belgian bank. In my spare time I collect 1/6 stuff and have started going into the 1:1 prop world. I own a 1:1 Vader and an unfinished Boba Fett. But I hope to get more stuff soon. Maybe something from my favourite movies like 300, Gladiator, Iron Man etc.

I hope to get to know you all better real soon, and I'm glad that I can be a part of this community :cool

Re: *** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here!

Thank you for keeping the Replica Prop Forum a public forum. I've been reading and enjoying posts for a couple of years now. I thought it was finally time to join.
I work in the physical sciences department of a small university in Kamloops, British Columbia. My only involvement in the film or TV industry is through my wife who used to be an actress and a vice-president of a small production company before she took over her father's real estate management business.
I only recently got involved in prop collecting and model building. My main interest is the original Star Trek series and most of the prop replicas I have collected are related to that series. My collection is not large, mostly unfinished kits. Perhaps because of my age, the other TV series and movies of interest are from the sixties and seventies. Although I very much enjoyed the latest Battlestar Galactica series. In fact from my back deck I can see the African savanna of the finale in the distance and can almost see the site used for the Algae Planet.
I hope I can make a useful contribution to this forum.

Re: *** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here!

So pleased I was able to register this time around! See you 'round the boards!
