Re: New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here!...

Hey everyone! I'm Ray. I just found out about this forum from a friend of mine and I'm in love with it!!

In the real world I'm a theatrical/event lighting designer and Hog 500/1000 programer based in Washington DC. I'm also a pyrotechnician and sense the 4th of july in coming up fast, I'm going to have lots of fun!!!

I have some big ideas coming up and I'm hoping for lots of advice from everyone and I also have lots of advice I can give to people!!

Re: New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here!...

Hey everyone!

Let me begin by saying it would be an understatement for me to say that I am incredibly impressed with the work I have seen here.

I discovered this forum through the Fora segment with Adam Savage and have been an observer of all your work since and I am happy to finally say that I am a member of this community.

Re: New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here!...

Hello from Japan!

I joined the RPF to get in touch with replica makers in Japan, as I have been begged/coerced to/blackmailed into helping a friend make an authentic looking Apollo spacesuit replica for her. I have no idea how I'm supposed to go about doing this, so I'm going to be relying on the width and breadth of everyone's experience here.

If anyone has any advice, or there are any prop makers living in Japan, I'd be happy to hear from you.

Cheers

KMC

Re: New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here!...

Hello Everyone!

Another geek here! I prefer things Trek but, as many have stated about themselves, I enjoy most anything SciFi. I have really only been active with making/building Star Trek replica props so far; although, as time allows, one of my next projects is to hopefully make/build a Liam Kincaid Phaser/Blaster and a Global Link from Earth: Final Conflict.

I've been lurking around this site for quite some time and I am excited to finally be a part of the community. I look forward to contributing what I can and learning new tips and tricks at the same time. :)

Re: New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here!...

Greetings to all...

First of all, please allow me to say thank you for the opportunity to join the RPF.

Even though I've been involved in costuming, props, and military reenacting for over five years, I still consider myself a noob.

There is much to learn & I hope I can gleam some valuable information and learn from everyone's experiences.

I'll be lurking in the background until I feel comfortable and then I'll join in.

Thank you again and I'll see ya around the campus.

Aloha,

T:p

Hi all! My name is John, I'm 41, Sacramento area resident, and sci-fi/action movie fan.

I just finished assembling my Darth Vader ROTS suit and will be submitting photos for the 501st.

My current project is building R2-D2, of which I have already obtained the aluminum dome, skins and Rockler bearing.

I've been wanting to join this group for quite some time and really look forward to meeting, talking and exchanging information with everyone. Please feel free to contact me if you'd like to say hello, or start a topic!

Best...

John
