New Elstree Studio documentary with discarded Graflex.

I can't go into details because of the super secret society I belong to which has privileged information about things like how props got their dents. but it basically involves the circumstances surrounding how this particular dent (red arrow) came to be.

Haha!! I laughed so hard my wife asked if everything was OK!! You and Seth should team up and do some script writing together. 'Tuna Salad Sandwich, the Movie' (AKA 'Grilled Cheese')

It’s held in place by rivets.
Nope, it takes at least 5 rivets to hold a tuna sandwich in place. Everyone knows that. So unless you can produce another pic of the other side of it showing at least one more grip rivet then there is no way there's a tuna sandwich in there.

here's a question - does anyone have a good shot of Luke's belt not washed out by sunshine? If the rivets on his belt are actually smaller than the shot on the other page, we might be able to mark the larger rivets off as blown up by glare too

I don’t know what to believe now. Are the larger rivers larger than the smaller ones or the same as the smaller ones?? What do we put on our Luke ANH replicas?? Roy what do you think based on the rivets of the belt?

I'm gonna need to receive both sizes of rivets from Roy and experiment with a cardboard paper towel tube, or something. I the meantime, I kinda think it's one of two possibilities:

1) All of the rivets--belt, d-ring, grip-gaps--are the same size.

2) The belt and d-ring rivets are larger, and the grip-gap rivets are all smaller.

To me, this suggests the oblong shape is due to glare on both sets of rivets (saber, belt).

I agree. In the photo of the belt on the red carpet it looks like the hole on the front rivet for the belt hook is fairly well centered vertically, but to the left horizontally. Looking at the other photo with that in mind it looks like there's a crescent at the top of the rivet that's just blown out highlight, rather than the head of the rivet. Imagining that crescent removed from the area of the lower rivet on the Graflex, the shape I'm left with looks much more like Roy's all 2.4mm overlay render.

I really think, of the two, it's this one. We have two different images showing the rivets from the hip pic, and in both they look small. Due to glare, the "bigger" rivets are the uncertain ones.

No way are the d-ring rivets any larger than what Roy offers on WannaWanga. I have them installed on the aluminum clip and d-ring on my TGS Gen 2. They can’t be any larger than those.

It should be noted that I don't have any parts in front of me, at the moment, so you're probably right. We're probably seeing three sizes of rivets: Big (belt), medium (d-ring), and small (grip-gaps).

Okay, I'm not good at this. Like, at all. But, when it comes to rivet size, I think I nailed something down.

The rivets on the belt are VERY over exposed, and look larger than the real rivet. We can see the real rivets here, on the left side of the belt.

They have a decent sized hole too, and it makes sense to me that the center hole will also look smaller when it's washed out by a camera.

So I basically estimated the real size of the left belt rivet, which I think is the standard one we've been using for D rings, 3mm or something, right?

Then I copied it to compare it to the other one, and then compared it to the saber. I also made a rough perfect circle of the little rivets to compare it to the size of those as well.

The real size of rivets is smaller than the washed out ovals. The real size of the belt/D ring rivet, is the same size as the washed out saber one. Can't be the case, leading me to conclude the saber grips have all the same size little rivets, the right 2 getting washed out and looking larger than they are.

If they were the bigger ones, the oval would be larger.

So what about Roy’s measurements??
