I definitely see them!!
Ah, thanks for the info Jim, much obliged for your efforts to scan this fine image so well. It was a privilege to restore, edit and clean it. What a wonderful piece of movie history! The photo is actually slightly out of focus down at the saber hilt. The scan is an accurate representation of the quality of the print unfortunately.
I went and bought a new scanner at Staples just to scan the print when I got it so I could share it on the forum. That was about 18 years ago.

What about flopping the colors and creating a negative image so that the stamping text might stand out more?
I'm not holding my breath for thisWell if the rumors are true about disney releasing the 77 original cut in 4k next year, then this thread will be.. Facinating at the very least.

Each to their own. To me, it was pretty obvious that Disney couldn't release it earlier since Fox had owned the distribution rights to the movie. Now they own Fox.
I don't think there's anything holding them back anymore.
We have Alien 79 and A Space Odyssey, both of which have been or about to be released in 4k. If Disney doesn't jump on the gun, that's just disappointing and illogical.
This is more my concern. IF we get the "theatrical" OT, and I'm not sure there's a ton of market incentive to do so, will it be restored properly? Disney's track record with restoring its animated films is absolutely abysmal.and IF they’re restored properly. But that release will probably be screwed up, somehow, be it in terms of content or quality control.

The archives are full of photos not yet made public, or are very rare as they only ran in one publication back in the day. I've seen a few, and finally got my hands on one-- an ROTJ promo image of Vader where you can clearly see the ESB hero belt-hanger.
There's people who post here... PEOPLE IN THIS THREAD... that have seen material from the archives. It's not a case of intentionally being held back, it's that any image from a production is protected legally and needs permission to be released. When you have hundreds of photos in boxes in a warehouse, no one is actively going through them to give them to prop fans. That's not a thing they have any reason to do.
