New Elstree Studio documentary with discarded Graflex.

As its still a matter of debate here. I recently was showed a new found photo of a new angle of the lightsaber photoshoot, same day as the toe pic saber. Where the bottom can be clearly seen. And I can confirm is attached the exact same way of the Elstree saber. Two rivets, and sighlty displaced from the center.
I cant show that photo. But I guess sooner or later Will come out.
Can you tell us if the bottom stamping said Folmer with or without the patient number? Or did you see New York spelled out or abbreviated N.Y.??

While
You perfeclty see the two
Rivets, the image is still too blurry to see such details.

WHAT?!!! So there IS photo evidence after all? OMG; I hope someone will publish this!
It's so good to read this!! This proof of the double rivets theory is SO cool! Please PM me that photo if someone is willing to.
You guys know where to get a replica :)!!

I wouldn’t be surprised if this graflex had the rivets in it from the original owner, god knows for only what reason

That’s why some grips are on top of the rivet

I think they were just always there.. pervious owner had then there for some reason.. maybe holding a custom bracket to a different camera

Who knows

A don't know why a photographer would do that, you wouldn't be able to load batteries. I think that's out... and I don't think it was a design design from Roger-- which keeps bringing me back to it either also being fiddled with as a possible stunt at some point, or it was a fix during production for the d-ring.

No, they're higher, one is ner the top of the grip. They don't correspond to these Graflex rivets either... just more and more curiousity...

Why would they need rivets in there to reinforce it? It seems a bit odd doesn’t it?? It’s not as If the pull on the D-ring is going to be big or enough to rip the end cap off or the ring itself. You’d need some substantial load to do that, more than it’s intended purpose. I really struggle to believe that they riveted anything on the inside just to reinforce an area already quite strong.

Perhaps they were just on there at the beginning? Some mod someone had made to a Graflex and they had already messed one or two up with the modifications.

Treadwell mentioned he's run into this issue before on one of his flashes:

That's the first thing I thought of, because that happened to one of my Graflexes. The bottom plate popped right off.

Wow i should have checked this thread a while ago...

So the ANH hero had 2 rivets holding the d-ring, and noe 4 other rivets between the grips attached to some kind of core (wood?) inside for more strength?

Anyone got a pic of how theyre drilling these 2 new d-ring holes around their existing 1?

I think the only rational solution is that the rivets are designed to reinforce the bottom plate. They're perfectly aligned with the rivets on the d-ring bracket. All six rivets are located in that unseen/rear section of the prop.
