Just a quick question, is it possible that I will have it by Halloween time? (For obvious purposes) I'm in the Los Angeles area and I ordered from the BBC America shop, which I believe is in New York. Thanks in advance.

BBC America Shop offer a few different shipping options - their free option is via USPS, which they say can take 7-14 business days, but hopefully that's a rather pessimistic estimate. Alternatively, you can pay extra for 2-day or 1-day FedEx delivery:

They are indeed based in New York, but their fulfilment warehouse is near Philadelphia (though I doubt that will make much difference for shipping to LA).

Hi Richard- I know you're not in control of your distributor's shipping etiquette, but I pre-ordered on the day of announcement and upgraded to next day delivery from Firebox. When do you reckon I might get my hands on it?
To those interested who want to know more about the background of how the Wand Company got started with building Sonic Screwdrivers, and some information about the 11th and 10th Doctor screwdrivers. I just today did a radio interview with Chris Barnardo of The Wand Company. Thanks to Chris for his time, and Richard for his help setting up the interview.

We're actually making the first deliveries of stock to Firebox (and Forbidden Planet and BBC UK Shop) tomorrow, so I expect they'll start shipping out on Monday - I know that Firebox's system is pretty slick. As I mentioned last week, we've realised that there have been more pre-orders than we were expecting, so none of these retailers will be able to fulfil all of their pre-orders next week, but if you placed your order on the day of the announcement then you'll definitely be OK.
For anyone who pre-ordered in the UK a bit later, we're still expecting that all remaining pre-orders will be fulfilled two weeks later (during the week of 21st October).

Richard, I'm debating on preordering the screwdriver from bbcamerica shop now that i know that they have a 2 day order, or just to wait for thinkgeek. I have read up on these post and I'm kind of afraid of mine not being shipped in the first batch since i would be preordering pretty late in the game. What do you recommend?

ThinkGeek also have a number of expedited shipping options (including 2-day and next-day delivery - see ThinkGeek :: Shipping), so there's no reason to expect that their shipping will be any slower than BBC America Shop. As you say, if you preorder from BBC America Shop now, you'll be joining the back of the line, whereas with ThinkGeek it's just a case of placing your order as soon as possible after receiving their "in stock" email and you should then be amongst their first dispatches. However, I'm afraid we don't know the exact details of either company's procedures and systems, so I can't be sure which of them will be quickest to turn around the stock after we deliver it to their warehouses.

Am I the only one that thinks the final production version looks as good (if not better) than the robatto painted prototype?? Really, richard, beautiful work.
