My Obi Wan TPM Collections

Hi All,

This is my collection of the Obi Wan TPM lightsaber(s). When the movie first came out, I thought this saber was ugly as #@&.

Needless to say, the design has grown on me.

I recieved my EE last week and am very pleased with it. The details are very nice.

Also, I have a question. Are the any upgrades available? I know that Roman's has the purple hemi and the red knob. How about the a blue crystal or the sanded LED inserts?

Are there any other makers?

The sabers from top to bottom are:

MR EE
MR Original
Larbel
MR .45 scale

How did you add the LEDs?

I just replaced the hex screws it came with, with the right bezeled leds...I had to drill the holes bigger though.

The LED's I got from...

Drumroll....

EDC,
a while back.

Me too, I replaced the red button with a correct female knurled one, the LEDs (sanded down), and also the purple hemi. I'll also be replacing the brass valve and red button with Roman's new ones soon :)

It really isn't so grey. I had to shop the photo becuase it was too dark. It is actually pretty shiny - it's no chrome or stainless steel, but still pretty shiny.

Can these 'Italian' sabers still be found?

The Italian ones are no longer produced but you might get lucky in the Junkyard.

It's been a while since I last watched TMP, but I believe the chrome/mirror finish of the MR is less screen-accurate than the Larbel.

That's a wonder collection Rvee30. I'm quite impressed. Unlike yourself, I've loved Obi's TMP saber since I first got a good look at it. It has a rather unique character.

The Itallian one isnt really a mirror finish, just polished aluminum...not as chromed looking as the MR.

I get this all the time, and I just don't get it. I frelling love my larbel obi. Man I miss larbel, great props, great prices, and the were EL compatible. Now it's all hale MR, inaccuracy at an outrages price. :(

Jason

The screen prop looks to have been a standard machined finish, i.e. they took it off the lathe and bolted it all together without much more consideration than that. I have one of my own like that, and I have another one which I finished to a satin, brushed finish. The machined finish is quite shiny, but nothing like a polished finish...

The larbels were polished then anodised, and for some reason this makes them photograph kinda grey, but really they're quite bright and shiny.

I've yet to see the MR EE version of this saber in person, but the AOTC one sucked, IMO. The EE looks pretty nice though.
