This whole accuracy thing has become way overblown. At the end of the day you can only go too far by disproving the reality of the thing you just bought.
What has become of bitter talk of inaccuracies and what people claim has spanned over threads and forums for silly whispers. I do not claim to know the exact dimensions, but what I don't understand is how and why some people are willing to get so frustrated and so bitter towards people for trying to prove whether a replica is accurate or not. I own a CT Sonic and he does make very good quality replicas, but I do not have any comment whetHer his replicas are accurate and personally don't care. I wanted a Season 1-2 sonic and I got a very nice replica with sound, the same can be said for MFX. I don't care whether MFX is accurate and if they claim to be accurate the same way CT states his are, but if I did would I really be bitter towards other people and waste my time trying to disprove the producers of the replicas...NO!

I wouldnt be surprised if the same thing happens in the next few years when people are producing licensed 11 Doc's sonics and someone will point out its inaccuracies:lol but I think by then I would have learnt that you cant control people, events and replicas produced by other people...:unsure

I got CT's tennant season 1-2 sliding prop - the only one he has released so far... he intends to produce more of the different variations of the prop seen throughout the series'sss which I am looking forward to!:)

I picked up the CT sonic and I have to say that it is beautiful. I will try to post a picture review of it if anyone is interested.

Not too sure what to make of the color issue as I DO like the Heritage Gold color on that Sonic's body. CT may be totally right but there's just something about how the yellow wires look with that gold grip color. It may be, just MAY be that CT is right even about this, buuuut I may just get the Heritage Gold version anyway as I really like the color contrast to the silver metal. It's just a very pretty color combination. :lol

OK... So, now that a spokesman for Dorling Kindersley has confirmed that there was a printing error in the colour rendering that turned the picture of the grey Sonic yellow, & there are still no screen grabs or photo stills of a heritage gold prop, can someone please tell me what the 'official screen accurate' MFX prop is a replica of exactly?

Surely now someone will put their hands up & admit that there's been a wee bit of a deception going on? Come on its only fair to those who bought one and so adamantly defended MFX's corner!

I reallllly wanna hear Neil's explanation for this one. I tied to stay out of the MFX debate, as I'm a little more forgiving over accuracy than other folk, but this both sucks and blows :confused

Then again, no-one noticed for a year, not even CT :lol

Three years :wacko

I'm still not 100% convinced, ready to take out the can of cream crackle and give it a repaint, but depending on Neill's response I just might. I do like the heritage gold color, and I like the yellow wires infinitely more than the "yea, we wired this thing up last week in Tim's garage" red and black wires, but the cream is nice, too. As I said, I'd like to hear what Neill says about it. Either way I don't care, I have enough of both colors of paint to change the color of the thing whenever I want.

I'm in the CT camp on this one. There's no way that is Heritage Gold. I can't understand why anyone would think that still except to make themselves feel better for buying a flawed product. There is no evidence that this colour sonic exists except in a confirmed printing error of the Visual Dictionary.

Well I can see why people would cling to that as an excuse. Personally I don't care either way, because I like the way both of them look, and the gold does go better with the yellow wires IMO.

I don't care about the colour, I like both of the sonics. Just because the product is 'flawed' it's not going to make me hate it or sell it, sheesh :lol

I agree and no one is asking you to do either. However, I believe that you shouldn't be blind to a product's shortcomings or flaws even if you like and accept the product. It's the RPF and here we are allowed to be critical if screen accuracy is what we've been sold and what we crave.

I'm not exactly blind to the products 'shortcomings' and I do agree that people are allowed to be critical on therpf but there's a point were critical becomes argument. I'm off and out on this one for now! have fun:)

Yea, I'm sure it's happened before, but I've never actually seen so much whining about the minute details of a prop before. I mean come on, it's a licensed piece. Has a licensed piece EVER been 100% accurate? All I ever hear from the Star Wars guys is how crap all the licensed stuff is. I think MFX did a fantastic job. And if you don't like the gold, cool beans, repaint it. This is the RPF, aren't we all the do-it-yourself type anyways?
