MattyCollector "Mattel Hoverboard" discussion

Here's some daylight (cloudy) pics.

In the 3D blueprint of the board it shows that.the bottom magnets and battery can come off if you remove the screws. Can you actually do this or are they permanently attached?

You can remove the battery block and the magnet pads but, in my case, the other screws cannot be removed. The pink sticker hide them all.

The pictures of the item show a measureing tape next to it and the full length of the pieces put together is 23 inches. Would that look alright on the mattel board?

Its funny, to do the neon pink stripes on the top of the board you can just use pink Tape. ;3

it depends on what type of magnet if its a thicker one it would be WAY too heavy but if its thinner then it would be much light and if your talking size then yes it would
probably fit because magnets come in ALL shapes and sizes. :D

Here's some quick mesurement if it can help ( in centimeters, sorry ;)

56,5cm from one pad to the other, 17,5cm for the pad diameter.

Google is my friend :) I just found a company local to me that supplies lenticular material. I hope they have honeycomb.

They also seem to be able to print on it. Would be a good idea to have them print the graphic on it or just do the traditional layering build up?

It could be great, do you have pictures of what they print on this?

It's a real shame that the official boards that people waited 23 years for turned out so bad. They seem to have gone to great lengths to aquire the original boards and claim to have taken precise measurements. Instead they churn out a rushed piece of crap. It looks like the Mr. Fusion was going to have the same fate but it looks like Diamond Select cancelled that project.

I changed the underneath pink color and the result is better, a bit less blue.

Forgive me if this has already been asked, but how did you achieve the brushed metal effect on the magnets?

Several months back I looked into some fake self-adhesive brushed metal vinyl, but didn't know whether to risk it.

Is this what you've used?

Also, to anyone else; has anyone successfully found a way to remove the raised text on the battery box? Sanding somehow perhaps?

Thanks!
