MattyCollector "Mattel Hoverboard" discussion

More gold from the User Manuel. "NOTE: Do not disassemble the Hover Board, the anti-gravity lift cushions inside may launch you into orbit." :lol

I know this isn't really a question about the replica board, but has anyone ever wondered why the foot strap is on the back of the board in the movie instead of the front? Don't you keep your front foot planted on the board and push with your back foot?

That's the usual way to move a skateboard forward. But I actually do it (or did it as a kid) in the other way: I keep my left foot over the back wheels and push with my right foot.

I looked this up, and while it's more common to do it the way you said so, it's actually perfectly acceptable to push with either foot.

Most skateboarding sites say to use whatever is most comfortable.

So there's seemingly no wrong or right way to skate.

After f#+*ing up a change of my shipping address, Matty customer service told me it will take 4 to 6 weeks for the arrival of the hoverboard to Germany so I doubt that we`ll get it before New Year.

I operated a mailing department that shipped domestically and to 27 different countries. Each country has its own issues on shipping and entry as well cost issues, so dealing with each cannot be done uniformly and effectively. You have to treat each one individually and with its own manner of shipping and documentation as a commercial business. I am certain this is why Digital Rivers never wanted to handle such. It takes specialized knowledge, hard work and multiple carriers to consistently get shipments to different countries in a timely cost effective manner.

Now that they have decided to ship out of the country, its is going to be a terrible learning curve for them and the non domestic service is going to be mixed results. Digital River has a problem with high volume sales, poor capability to list a decent number of skew/different products on their site and their mailing and tracking system is almost non-existent here in the states. The staff is trained with minimal PAT responses and has not clue to the basic issues that arise and how to handle most situations they take over the phone. Expect some hiccups at the very least.

Matty Collector's international shipping service is unacceptable. Standard response for delivery is 4 - 6 weeks, how is it they can't include a tracking number with regular post? I have no idea what country it's currently in, I was told that I have to wait 6 weeks before I can apply for a refund.

I know that the hoverboard is quite heavy and more weight means higher costs but still, I ordered two pairs of shoes from a company in China, paid 55 $ shipping (Matty wanted 48 $), got a tracking number and received the shoes within three days. This hoverboard issue is ridiculous in every way.

Seriously. There shipping fee wasn't cheap either for $20+ dollars to ship to Canada, we should at LEAST get a tracking number

I received my board here in Sydney, Australia on the 13th. So can't fault the delivery speed, but I did pay $76.50 for the service.

got a set of new graphics (top only so far), looks a lot better already, still needs a few tweaks though... (the top pink stripes are missing on purpose as i'll be cutting the graphic to sit in the recess on the board and attaching the pink velcro)
