Mandalorian Season 3

Agree, but also, suspension of disbelief.
Of course. I suspend my disbelief about space wizards, laser swords and faster-than-light travel.

But the kid getting coughed up dry, clean and unharmed - is that really part of the narrative, and something else we’re supposed to suspend our disbelief about, or was that just sloppy oversight?

A bit of both.

I'm just waiting for the pitchforks & torches when it's revealed that Grogu is The Mandalorian in the title, & it's been a swerve the entire time.

No joke

From ALL the BTS stuff, Grogu hasn't been a cash grab for merch like many have assumed, but rather been in the DNA of the show since it's inception.

The show has since explained that one doesn't have to be BORN Mandalorian, but instead raising as a founding is sufficient. Both Grogu & Din are foundlings.

The Vizla that first united Mandalore was a Jedi that created the Darksaber. Grogu is a Jedi.

The Man'dalor that established everything first tamed the Mythosaur, & the prophecy of the one that reunites Mandalore is that the Mythosaur will rise & be tamed again. We've seen Grogu with the skill that both Anakin & Ezra showed with the reek & the purgill. Grogu calmed a rancor.

We could be watching the beginnings of a new golden age for Mandalore that would have a leader that could lead for literal centuries.

Sage advice.
I think that my personal issue with even valid criticism, is the way it's expressed. It usually is a matter of "I PERSONALLY didn't like this, therefore I deem it stupid/lazy/garbage".

I was the one that crapped all over the issues with that kid being ALIVE, much less dry, but I'm not taking that as a high ground stance on why Disney has ruined everything good in my life. LOL

Matter of fact, I recall a conversation that Mark Hamill said he had with Harrison Ford during the filming of ANH. Mark had questioned whether his hair should be wet after the scene in the trash compactor. To paraphrase Ford, "Look kid... This ain't that kind of movie. If anyone's looking at your hair, we've got a problem.".

LOL
Delivery is extremely important. I couldn't agree more that "I didn't like it" is very different from "this is a piece e of s***." I'm certainly not perfect but I try my best to keep that in mind unless I'm making a joke (which are never meant to be taken seriously).

If someone thinks Disney has ruined their life because of SW content it's not really my place to judge. I don't feel that way at all but I know a few who do as SW is central to their lives and work. Neither is wrong, just different. Which is the point if we are trying to not be overly judgmental of content perhaps a first step might be to try to be less judgmental of each other.

Well if a character gets completely submerged in a pool of water and comes out dry 9/10 I'm going to notice that and it's going to distract from the story that I'm watching for a bit. Whether or not Harrison Ford (or anyone else) thinks so or thinks thats ridiculous. It's ridiculous to me to not care about such things at all and just say "well it doesn't effect the narrative". Doesn't mean it's ruined. I don't need or want to hammer that in though. But with that said I don't think its the best course of action to act like my ways of thinking or critiquing are superior to anyone else's, subtly or overtly. Whether I'm critiquing/responding to content or a persons reaction to content. Again no finger pointing happening here.

Lest we forget, 2 episodes before this, a couple of Mandalorians swam (well... one of them fell) to the bottom of an indoor lake, and when they got back to shore, neither of them were dripping wet.

Clearly the Mandos have some crazy effective Dri-Fit technology on their armored suits.
That's why there aren't any dry-cleaners in the entire Galaxy:p

Gotta' admit, the camping, the overall lack of urgency to save the kid, that really bugged me. Once the kid was snatched, and everybody took off I thought for sure we were going to see an exciting fast paced rescue. I think they tried to explain away the lack of urgency with mentions of prior kids that have been taken. My first thought was "You're supposed to be bad ass warriors. You just keep letting these kids get taken? You don't plan countermeasures for next time a giant easy to see in the sky dragon comes around?" Then after they all run out of jetpack gas and they talk about how they always run out of jetpack gas I thought "Nope, they are just letting this thing take kids. Why would you even bother to fly after it on jetpacks if jetpacks don't work?" Despite those gripes, I did enjoy the episode overall, and I liked the stuff with Grogu.

I enjoyed this episode, while it didn't feature Din much, it did do a bit with Bo and Grogu and I think that this was the focus and goal of this episode. I don't think that it was meant to be a big episode with lots of big reveals, with the exception of Grogu's rescuer that is, but I got the distinct impression that it was setting things up for future episodes. This episode seemed to be doing what most of The Bad Batch S2 has been doing, laying down the seeds or groundwork for bigger plot points down the road.

IDK why they changed, but I really liked the saber he had on the other show. Except for the leather & weathering, it was stock parts from Savi's Workshop at Disney.

Beq's nickname is 'The Sabered Hand' due to his proficient use of a one-handed fighting style. That's why I loved seeing him duel wield those sabers.

But Katie was listed in the credits as ‘starring’ just underneath Pedro…so…

Oh yeah I absolutely agree that Grogu could very well be the actual Mandalorian the title refers to. The only thing is, I seem to recall that Grogu wasn’t in the earliest drafts and he was developed as the “hook” they felt they needed. I may be misremembering though…

You could be right. I could either be misremembering or going off of concept art instead of story pitches.

Thanks

Did episode 20 seriously just rip off another Pedro Pascal movie called Cliff Beasts 6 :Battle for Everest :Memories of a Requiem?
It was the movie in a movie from The Bubble.
