Mandalorian Season 3

Just watched this episode and I have to say that so far the last two episodes should have had the entire middle carved out because they added nothing to the story. I'm also completely over the utterly ridiculous don't remove your helmet thing (as it's shown) after this episode. Not being able to remove your helmet except when you're alone is just idiotic. I thought maybe it was that you couldn't do it with outsiders, but after this, no it's just dumb. I also thought them bringing back those baby whatever things didn't make sense. You're telling me you crammed them in there and they just sat there without trying to eat anyone?

I forgot to add that I did like that they seemingly kept the KOTOR 2 Mandalorian duel ring rules in this. It might be a coincidence, but in KOTOR 2 they would duel and the Mando you challenge was allowed to set the terms as far as weapons or no weapons.
The "Never-remove-your-helmet" thing is an additional challenge in writing a scene. How these people eat in a group? Well; you've got the answer in the last episode. Many have mentioned that, here on this rock, many societies have some kind of concept that mimic that idea.
Whether it's a Hijab worn in public (but not at home) or any other type of religious tradition.
Of course, people tend to see what the character "feel" by looking at their faces. The impervious Mandalorian mask keeps us to see those visual cues that makes us "like" or "dislike" someone. I like the concept in terms of mystery. Everything has to be conveyed by talking/action...and that can be difficult to accept in the long run;)

The ultimate conundrum for a hundred Mandalorians…

Can we also talk about the deep sh** that Naboo just took a bounding leap into in that episode? At least Bail Organa got Yoda and Obi Wan out covertly. Those Naboo guards, quite admirably, went out guns blazing. I don't think any got on board the ship. I can just see the Queen getting a report from Coruscant "Uh, so the Republic was overthrown, the Jedi are on the run, and our guards just attacked Clonetroopers so a Jedi could take the Royal Yacht." I would guess that the Empire would have just put Naboo near the top of the list of planets to deal with first.

I think while they had Ahmed Best there, it would be a good time to redeem Jar Jar in a flashback. He's still a senator so they could have it so Jar Jar was the one who had the yacht there to help Jedi escape.

Isn't Papa Palps from Naboo? I think when he ordered 66 it came with deep fried Gungan and Chips...sauce on the side.

I'm surprised that nobody's brought up the subject of Grogu's new piece of armor, the rondel. I'm rather curious about it since we clearly see circuitry embedded in it, but what is it for, and on a full set of armor, where does it go? Historically, a rondel was just a simple metal disc that was on the front of a Medieval/Renaissance plate harness to cover the gap between the cuirass and the rerebrace when there's no pauldron. But it's nothing fancy, just a simple metal disc that's hung in front of that gap and it's not something we've seen used by any Mando nor Clone or Stormtrooper either. So where is it supposed to go ultimately and why the circuitry? Is it meant to form part of a cuirass and they misnamed it or is Grogu really going to be the first armored Star Wars character with a rondel? If that's the case and it is supposed to be like a Medieval rondel, what's the circuitry?

I had to research rondel immediately after the episode. My best guess to armor in Star Wars is that all earth based terms and armor types are available to the armorer and the like. So far I don’t think we’ve seen a small piece of armor that could fit Gogurt except a handguard, so pulling a rondel from the armorers likely complete database of armor pieces seems fitting.

something else no one has mentioned is that baby yogurt keeps saying "Batuu" as a shameless plug for galaxy's edge. I think he started back in season 2 saying it.

Totally agree. It reminds me a bit of the Tusken story and their non-removable masks. And then the Finn scene in the awful sequels when was asked why he removed the helmet without permission. What is the obsession in this universe with keeping your helmet/mask on all time?

Maybe a lot of people in the SW universe live in constant shame, like Jets fans.

(Kidding!! Don’t @ me, I’m a Raiders/Cowboys fan and we’re in the same boat)

It's to go with Mando's 'Find your Grogu' app that can also be put on the the right screen in his ship.

I wondered about the rondel too. I do recall in season 1, when Mando was by the campfire recovering from the Mudhorn fight, he seemed to be fixing some sort of weird circuitry behind his battered chest armor plates. No idea what that would actually be for.

I also am puzzled by the purpose of Grogu’s rondel since he already has the chainmail Beskar armor, which seems better suited for him anyways. Im now waiting for Grogu to get shot at some point, to everyone’s horror, and then it’s discovered the rondel took the blast. Lol!

The reason why I'm wondering why a rondel is that we've yet, to the best of my knowledge, anyone having a rondel on their armor. And given that historically a rondel was a simple hanging metal disc, what possible purpose could its electronics serve?
